Hey I just figured it out and I hope this can help you too. If have VirtuMVP and Windows 8. I think it's the combination of these. Turn off VitruMVP from the system tray and it will now launch AND display.

I read a thread you had posted stating you couldn't run Metro 2033. Have you had any luck? I have the same problem. No error messages and all. What version of Windows are you running?
