I really enjoy this game.

The only game I can even think to compare it to is the 2D Kingdom series but mostly because that game also doesn't explain what is going on but I really enjoyed it.

Yes you will probably want to start over from scratch when you figure lots of stuff out, but then you will get stuff done so much faster when you know what to do.

This game definitely is not for everyone, but if the idea of a single-player only, "open world survival crafting" game appeals to you I recommend it.

I would recommend this if the game didn't feel like an Early Access title. Instead of making their game work they offer "free DLC" to appease the masses. I would much rather they playtest and bugfix the main game then releasing these admittedly beautiful but ultimately pointless DLC.

Both of the DLC are just as buggy as the main game with unique bugs due to the changes. They also don't seem to be interesting in fixing this DLC as they released Dead Lands without bothering to release a big bugfix alongside.

If you are looking for a polished Kingdom game, play Kingdom: New Lands instead.

Instead of fixing bugs, they focus on this crap. Just as buggy as the main game but with it's own unique bugs thanks to new art assets and features that were obviously never playtested. I get the feeling that art is the #1 priority for this team and everything comes second. They act like they have no idea what "ludonarrative harmony" is.

It seems like all the people who work on this game have never bothered to take an afternoon and actually play the game they made. Supposedly they are working on it full time according to dev responses but I guess their shifts are too long to allow them any free time to play and none of their family/friends are into the game or willing to be straight with them. It just takes me less than an hour on the new DLC to find problems without even advancing to the second island, so I guess taking an hour to play is way too much effort for them.

Of course the reviews are full of people praising it just because it's free but it doesn't work! Sure you can load it up and look at the art and force your way forward but you will be fighting bugs the entire way.

Still not as polished as Kingdom: New Lands and I am starting to doubt that it even can be.
