Original Review:Always good, always buy this stuff with the pre-order discount because Creative Assembly does such an amazing job with this game.

EDIT:I am seeing a lot of hate for my boy Nakai here in the reviews. Seems like not many people like/understand hoard mechanics. I have been having a blast wrecking the map on Hard with Nakai, have had 0 trouble.

The key is to remember, your vassal settlements? They cost you literally nothing. Building or repairing them after an attack? Nope the vassal covers that. Literally every single settlement you turn into a vassal gets walls instantly, and a 20 stack garrison with end game units that Nakai can reinforce in a siege.

So there is basically no point in defending settlements at all because you lose literally nothing and your enemies will waste huge amounts of resources throwing armies at them, while you can just go around back and take their undefended settlements.

Oh and did I mention every settlement you take gets walls and a full 20 stack army? That means even tiny settlements that are poorly defended become bastions for the Defenders of the Great Plan. Ports, full provinces and capitals have 0 effect on them so every settlement counts no matter where it is located.

Nakai is a force to be reckoned with, his buffs to Kroxigors turn them into nightmares (there is tech to make all Kroxigors cause terror in all of your armies so quite literally.) This faction is the perfect example of "all your eggs in one basket" style gameplay. I almost don't understand why he can make temples to anything but Itzl since those buffs stack with his buffs the nicest. He ends up with Skaven style summon anywhere on the map during battle units that more than make up for the slow Kroxigors.

The thing is, most of the time there is basically no reason to engage enemy armies as Nakai, especially in the first 50-100 turns. They will lose more resources trying to retake settlements from the Defenders of the Great Plan then they can make and you can just come in and swoop any of their other undefended settlements while they are busy sieging something that literally doesn't matter to your success. Soon all they will have left is half dead attritioned armies that don't stand a chance even in auto resolve and you only had to battle their garrisons this whole time. (Not to mention when Nakai gets lightning strike battle talent).

It reminds me of my favourite DLC for the first game, Norsca in a lot of ways in how I play it personally but it is almost better in every way for pure hoard gameplay. Wherever the Spirit of the Jungle leads, is a good place for Nakai to be.

Steam Top Sellers brought another hit that I had missed. I love it, this game is great. If you even think you might like it, buy it.

I had stopped playing this game before this update. The beastmen brought me back.

I love them all, except the standard bearer. I think he needs some tweaks, maybe the banner should be on his back/carried or otherwise attached to him and he should effect all enemies nearby except he should be unable to be effected even if two of them stack up, this way it's another elite to kill instead of an unstoppable wall of beastmen between you and a stick you need to hit.

I think this expansion has a bad reputation, but I also think the community of players here on Steam has always been a little . . off.

You can experience it for free if you own the game and a friend or random host owns it, so that should be enough for you to decide if you want this or not.

I like it a lot more than I thought I would. The Warfront mode is really nice. If it looks like something you would enjoy, give it a try.

Early Access Review
Don't buy this game unless you want to support an Early Access title and mess around with a German submarine. There are still a lot of progress blocking bugs and at this point it is better to just start a new game each time you play.

I have no doubt that this game will be finished based on the amount of work they have already done (they started this game in 2016) and the amount of updates that have come out in early access (over one update a month so far).

Please don't leave a negative review just because of the bugs, it is still basically in Alpha/early Beta at the least.

I am already quite impressed with what is there and I can't wait for the finished product.

The new Update is the best one yet. I now have a crippling gambling addiction that costs no actual money.

Even if you look at the price for just four characters, this season pass is worth it. The costume stuff is just free extras. Most games would charge $10 a character easy.
