EDIT: I'd advise holding off on anything past the prologue until the game is much closer to completion. There is just too much missing and the game is super unbalanced because of it.

Reminds me of Kingdom Come: Deliverance in a lot of ways (if it was set in a fantasy world and you got to play who you wanted instead of "Henry"). The inventory and weapons, the setting, even the save system remind me of that game.

Really though, this game is more similar to Caves of Qud or Dwarf Fortress, but instead of having ASCII graphics it has beautiful pixel art reminiscent of Graveyard Keeper. It was really the graphics that sold me, I have played many rogue-likes and they always seem to rely on mods to add graphics so I was glad to see such a focus on the art here.

This game is definitely not for everyone but I would already rate this as one of the most accessible rogue-likes due to the tutorial and user interface.

Try the free prologue if you have any doubts.

Really nice outfit for people who enjoyed the first game. The pro's greatly outweigh the con's in my opinion. Having bodies dissolve makes the game too easy doesn't matter who hears you cause by the time they come over to look there is nothing to see (most of the time you can then kill the guy who overheard). The clone lifespan is around twice as long which is really handy for your most useful ability, it allows you to actually scout things out with your clone and lie in wait without switching back to Styx. Taking one damage if a clone is caught is nothing, 4 clones being caught equals 1 vial of life, I am always full of vials of life never have ever crafted one so I don't know what people complain about there. I also found a bug? where if you dismiss your clone while it is being caught, you still take damage but you get the amber refund anyway which is more important imo

abandonware. developer even reached out to me personally when the "resubmerged" update released asking for me to submit bug reports then never replied to my request for a location to send the requested files. At the time he mentioned things like how this was not his primary job which just goes to show that he has probably abandoned game development in general.

Highly underrated. Worth every cent.

At least there is a food item they give us on day one.

I really hope "2 original episodes and one new story" is not marketing-speak for 2 episodes that take place in a new story, and instead it means 3 separate DLC, I will update this review as I find out more/as they release.

A New Power Awakens is two Boss Battle Episodes that can only be purchased together after they are both released or with the Season Pass. Episode 1 is the DLC that just released.

The other DLC with be, "A New Story Arc" and so far just titled, "??????" in the trailer.

This implies that the third DLC will be bigger than either of the "Boss Battle Episodes" and will have more of a focus on the open world.

My predictions are that the second Episode will be Resurrection 'F' and that the third DLC will be content from the Dragon Ball Super anime. (either that or the third DLC is Resurrection 'F' and the second Episode is just Goku and Vegeta learning Super Saiyan Blue.)

The only DLC that actually adds content to the game on release and they made it free for anyone who pre-ordered. Even the ultimate edition content is not actually available until spring (except a food item that only gives a small early game boost).
The fact that there is no waiting period of availability might bother people if this was an online game, but the fact that this game is entirely single player, it only makes sense if they are going to sell the pre-order content they might as well start right away.

Totally love it, better than I hoped. Basically a must own for die-hard fans.

it's bad

It's good. You know it's good. It runs good on PC as well. (The settings may warn you that you are using too much memory but just ignore that and watch your framerates to gauge.) I can't really say anything that hasn't been said already. 10/10

P.S.A. The black bars on the cutscenes (both pre-rendered and otherwise) are removable on the PC version. Look on Nexus mods, it is really easy. Even the pre-rendered cutscenes have full 16:9 image hiding under those ugly black bars, for a full 1080p view.
