I think it's surprising how much anger there is in the forum about this game not being completed yet. My question is how is the guy even supposed to make a good, fun game when getting flamed so much online in his game forum? If anything that WILL make people abandon their project that was once a labor of love and is now just a chore and a job. This was once a fun game being updated back in 2014, so you could say I've been waiting 7 years for updates, It does seem like it may never get finished so right now I can't recommend buying this game, as it seems financially irresponsible to me, but all that being said I do hope the dev is being sincere and that maybe one day this will still get an update. Either way good luck to everybody out there who reads this, take care because others care about you, even if it seems like nobody does sometimes.

Kona; a non-linear detective game with plenty to see and puzzles to solve, mixed with a dash of unsettling creepiness makes for a pretty fine cocktail of genres. The only other game that I would compare this game to would be Near Death, but that's mostly because of the fact that you still have that drive just to stay warm and survive. Kona, however, is much more forgiving than Near Death in this aspect.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to play detective and solve the mystery of why everyone in this small Canadian town seems to have simply disappeared. Not everyone would be satisfied with paying full price for it, though, so I recommend adding it to your wishlist and waiting for it to go on sale again.

The story does leave a lot to be desired but it plays just well enough that you'll hopefully be interested enough to see it through to the end. I must warn you, though. The ending is pretty bad. Just bad.

Does this make the rest of the game bad, though? No, not in my opinion. I had plenty of fun driving around in my old Chevy loaded down with supplies while listening to French-Canadian folk music. There's a fair amount of backtracking you'll have to do throughout the game, but in an open area with a non-linear story this kind of thing is to be expected. Not the best game ever, nor the worst game ever. It was a very average experience for me, and that's why I recommend waiting for it to go on sale, because you probably won't be happy at the end if you paid $20 for it. I got it for $10 and am not disappointed in my purchase at all.

Like I said, the game is pretty fun. Exploring shacks and buildings that seem to have been recently vacated, taking notes in your journal and taking photos of significant finds, driving around in a truck, listening to French-Canadian folk music, trying to shoot wolves who are attacking you but you miss every time, smoking cigarettes, drinking beer, I mean seriously, this game has it all.

Also, the narrator they chose doesn't belong in a spooky game like this. He needs to be on the history channel. Imagine Kyle Reese from The Terminator being the narrator instead. It makes the game even better than it was before.

This is a great point and click adventure, and the idea of having "boss fights" in a game like this is very unique. It's gross, it's disgusting, but at the same time it's so whimsical and happy. This game made me cringe one minute, and smile the next minute. It's an odd balance, but it works out great and I really enjoyed this game. It's worth full price, but definitely get it on sale if you can.

The game is very forgiving with autosaves and you don't ever lose much progress if you die, which is really useful because sometimes you might get stumped on a puzzle, and a few of them can be challenging, but the developers want you to be able to actually easily experience the story of the game, so there's even a little hint button that gives you a little clue on what to do next. So the game kind of holds your hand, but is that really a bad thing?

You don't have to use hints, and maybe you can even solve a lot of the puzzles quickly, but the main point is to experience the story and see what happens in the end. I highly recommend this game for anyone who loves horror like me, and if you want a fun point and click adventure then check this one out! :3

Narcosis is, in a nutshell, a survival horror game that takes place in the ocean. This does not mean it should be compared to SOMA in terms of quality. SOMA is a narrative experience which forces the player to think about existential things, and what it means to be human or have a consciousness.

Do not compare SOMA to Narcosis.

They are completely different games with completely different stories and completely different mechanics. Saying "Ooooh it's a spooky underwater game" is not a valid reason to compare the two games. Before I bought this game, I saw several reviews saying "just buy SOMA instead". I say buy both. They're both really good games in their own way.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing through Narcosis and I thought the story was told in an interesting way. It does heve its annoyances of course but nothing that affects the overall quality of the game. It's believable, it's a story that could actually happen in our world, and they did a good job making it. So what if the oxygen thing isn't as realistic as it could be, it's a survival horror game. There has to be an element of "survival" in it.

I don't want to reveal too much about it here but I'm telling you, please, for the love of god, do not compare this game to SOMA or take to heart any reviews that do so. I wish I could go into more detail about the game but honestly, just for the enjoyment of the game, I think it's best to go in blind and just see how the story unfolds. It's realistic, it's tragic, it's interesting, and most importantly, it's unique.

You'd be doing yourself a favor by buying this game if you're a horror junkie like me. Full price may be just a little high, and although it's worth it, I suggest adding this one to your wish list and buying it when it goes on sale again. I really love what the developers have created here and I look forward to seeing more from them in the future.

I love Hyper Light Drifter. It's very difficult, but fun, and although it's a pixel game, the visuals are stunning. Not only that, but the soundtrack is great and really works well to immerse you more into exploring the game world. It has local multiplayer, but I haven't tried it yet so I'm not sure how it works.

It's kind of cryptic though, because there is no dialogue, nor any text in the game. Everything is explained through pictures, even when you're talking to an NPC. You have to have an imagination for this one for sure. Great game, highly recommended for anyone who likes a nice challenge.

The $20 price tag is a little high, and although I think it's potentially worth it, I would just probably wait until it goes on sale. Not because it's not a quality game, but you'll need that extra money for beer or cigarettes so you won't break your controller in half.
