Play as Luisa Dorfer, a former lawyer looking for a change of pace in her life. Hinterberg is a tourist attraction due to its phenomenon of magic and dungeon portals. People known as slayers are trying to conquer them and you are now one of them. You can explore the village and four semi open world maps, with each of them having their distinctive biome and magic skills. There are many characters around Hinterberg you can meet and spend time with, relationships give you benefits in the form of perks and upgrades, or even special gear. Dungeons are very reminiscent of Zelda, lots of environmental puzzles mixed with combat and a boss for each biome. Some of the dungeons have very interesting and unconventional designs, similar to what you find in Super Mario Galaxy. Visuals and soundtrack are simply amazing, exploration feels great and is always rewarding.
Theres a lot of customization going on. Many outfits to purchase, stat boost gems to be added to your weapon, a big variety of charms that give you passive effects or stat boosts and skill attacks that can be mixed and matched however you like. I recommend buying the increased monster loot charm at Hannahs store as soon as possible.

Not too many complaints here. The plot is very generic, evil money hungry Mayor, yadda yadda. She hid one of the dungeons so magic will never disappear and she can profit off it forever. However, there are in fact four dungeons that are hidden and can only be discovered by specific means. The Tower of Trials dungeon was extremely laggy for me, I was almost unable to beat the level because Luisa refused to climb ladders or fell down. Even lowering all the settings didnt do anything to help.
Some minor things that broke immersion for me was that the swords always kind of clipped through the shaft when walking and the dungeon Desolate Castle had a huge bed, park bench, swords and spinning wheels, indicating this may have been a giants castle until you notice that the whole castle is for some reason normal human sized. Why include all these huge props when the castle itself isnt adequate to their size?

Sometimes I feel really bad purchasing cheap retail keys instead of waiting for a sale, or simply buying at full price, because Hinterberg deservers every cent it charges. Im kind of a cheapskate with limited funds and too much freetime, what can I say. I shall repent by buying the Supporter Bundle.
