Long time Paper-MTG Player, I love magic and still play paper today. Stay clear of this game by all means go and buy a starter deck or a precon-commander deck and find a local game store near you to play, you'll have ten times the enjoyment you could ever get out of this game. Your going to be mana-screwed half of the games you play or placed against whales that have spent insane amounts of money on this and the matchmaking is completely horrendous for a newer player. Playing in person is such a better experience to the game because before the game starts you can talk with the fellow players at your table and discuss how strong your deck might be with theirs and have a more balanced and fun game. Every single person your going to play in this is playing some form of a competitive deck and not having the thousands of cards that these players do means you don't even get a chance to compete you've lost as soon as you click the play button.

TL:DR dont play unless you plan to spend thousands of dollars on virtual cards that hold no value instead of actually buying cards that will somewhat hold their value over time, and play against actual human beings you can talk to and have a more fun non-sweat competitive enviornment

Amazing story and soundtrack but the game is filled with a bunch of tedious mini-games some are fun some are counter-intuitive, combat can be a hit or miss in some fights back and forth. The world is beautiful and there's a bit of exploring to do, you don't get enough of some materias making you have to swap them back and forth between your characters taking extra time. Play the Remake Intergrade first of course, and maybe even the original before that or a lot of the ending will make no sense. Overall decent quality game I'd highly recommend picking it up if its on a discount with Remake Intergrade or if you've already played that one before.

What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disappointment

Will probably be fun once it gets its "Iceborne" DLC, but by itself currently it's pretty horrendous. Half of the systems in the game are barely functioning, the games performance is awful, the quantity of monsters is incredibly low, you can honestly tell within a few hours of game play how rushed out this game was. Highly recommend but only after it's gotten all it's updates.

Most enemies mechanics are just tedious and not fun
Materia slots inhibit your ability to play how you want
Constant swapping of party members to the point you spend more time in the menus

Yuffie Intermission
forces you to play their awful auto-chess and I stopped there

Never buying a 2k game again from awful support to the controllers just not working in this game horrible product just buy and play the original

Developers arent making the game for the players, they're making it for themselves. Just watch the Zizaran Interview.

Highly worth it only if you intend to play it all the way through, the game, story, systems, and just about everything unlock a lot further the more you get through the game (Chapter 10+). I would also reccomend downloading the Nova mod manager and getting the 4K 60fps FMVs, and cutscenes.
