Abysmal mouse and keyboard support on this one. But after 2h of rebinding and making macros I could get the DSR / Elden Ring MKB like experience to an extent.

Good world building, Majula is beautifull, but the tone of this game is definitly lighter than that of the 1st game, and not in a good way imo. Bosses are inferior too, except for Fume Knight and maybe Smelter Demon and Aged Smelter Demon.
Ascetics are a cool mechanic, i really liked those and for some reason this game can get way harder than DS1 or Elden Ring ever could (I just started DS3 so I can't speak for that one).

PVP still very active I was getting invaded constantly even at soul memory 16 million. (They butchered my Black Knight "Ultra" greatsword comparing to DS1 smh so I ended up maining Zweihander on a quality build)

Good game, superior in some aspects to DS1 but inferior in way many others. Massive replayability value.
(Oh and yes, ADP is indeed dumb)

The game is good, challenging, and interesting. The interconnectiveness between zones is fascinating. Almost feels like a horror game, the tone, the vibes, these are "oldschool" quirks that games these days struggle a lot to replicate.

I have no complaint about the combat system on mouse and keyboard on this remaster except for the camera auto rotation that cannot be turned off, such option was only introduced in Elden Ring, so if you want to press A or D and look to the sides in a free mode you will fight the camera. Mods can fix this but then you would lose the online experience.

Addictive game loop, lore and world building. Love it.

Very good game. Very diferent from soulslike so I dont think I would call this game a soulslike.

I abandoned this game some 10 times when I hit some walls since 2020... until it "clicks". When the game "clicks" it really has an adictive gameplay loop.

Gauntlet runs in the end are very fun.

NG+ to get my last 4 achievements was boring though. Maybe I was kinda burned out so that's on me.

Rating games with a x/10 is subjective specially these days. But if I had to i'd give it a 9/10.

Finished the main story and did a lot of side quests and still have much to do for a 100% completion. But after 200h i can say with certainty now that this is one of the best RPGs even made (in my opinion) and an instant classic in the genre.

Suprisingly mid. I like GoW18 better. And for some reason even the textures of GoW18 were superior which is odd because both games use the same engine. The game becomes boring at some point. The story kept me going. Valhalla DLC may very well be the best part fo the game turning it into a Roguelike.

But as all things it all comes down to taste in games. And this restrictive and rigid gameplay was never my cup of tea to begin with. Still a solid 7/10 imo

I am a PC-gamer-only since the late 90's. This game looks amazing and im sure I will have fun with it. But I am giving this an automatic thumbs down due to the fact that the game is locked on steam in 180 regions in the world. Some people say that those regions don't matter, but as a player from western europe I know for a fact that just a few countries like Morrocos, Algiers and Egypt have massive gaming communities judging by when I play CS2 and those players are everywhere in EU servers. PC is a platform that prides itself of being for everyone, anywhere. So is Valve. You can create a steam account in Antartida as long as you have internet conection, and even if you lose that conection you can play most single-player games in offline mode. So this is not a good step foward when it comes for PC gaming, in fact it is several steps back.

I will write a review about the game when I actually finnish it, but this will remain a thumbs down on my end no matter how good the game is, unless Sony Playstation studios reverses course on their policy on PC (Steam).

Very short comparing to The Dark Descent, and the vibe is completly diferent albeit with a certain feel of its own that I do like. But, inspite of being its own game, I think it is way too easy comparing to the first one.

There are 2 games in this game. I know this sounds weird. There's a 10/10 game and 6/10 game.

Ultra Hard / Explorer mode / No HUD is a 10/10 game.

Below Ultra Hard, Guided mode gives you the vanilla ubosift game markers overdose turning this into a 6/10 game.

The Mo-cap and story telling is one of the best I have seen ever in a videogame, idk why people hated on this game, maybe souls-like fans due to ER launch? Idk.

So yeah, Ultra Hard / Explorer mode / No HUD and this is one of the best story-driven open world games I have ever played with a mixed complex combat system that makes for hundreds of hours of fun.

10/10 for me.

180 countries still locked out of having fun. I was 177 but they just locked the 3 EU Baltic states too. I'm changing this to negative and it's not going back, ever. I don't trust liars.

1 - My review is based on my experience playing the game with Frame Generation mod installed. If I wasn't using it, this game would be at max a 3/10 due to performance issues even when I'm using a 13900K + 4090 setup.

The review:

Amazing game, very addictive for reasons I can't yet explain. I've played better games that didn't get a hold on me like this one. Is it the story? Heck no. But the world building and gameplay are very good.

I dislike the fact that NPCs in the city and everywhere really, don't react to stuff you do like stealing from inside people's houses etc. To trigger a reaction the only thing that does it is draw your weapon and they flee.

NG+ feels a bit off due to no enemy scaling. The MTX complaints are valid but to be fair I had more than I could spend in items without ever even consider buying any MTX.

8/10
