I mean...if you have a VR headset, this game is pretty fun to mess around in. The amount of customization you get and the amount of stuff there is to seemingly explore seems infinite with how much community-generated content there is.

But if you don't have a VR headset - your options in this game are very, very limited. The most you can do is walk & look around, as well as talk on your mic and do...a pre-determined set of "taunts". That's it, really.

This is a time I wish Steam had a "neutral" rating. I'd totally rate VRChat as such.

Do I recommend this if you have a VR headset? Yeah, absolutely! It's a decent supplement to whatever goggles you end up getting.
Do I recommend this if you don't have one? No, not really. There are better ways to spend your time. It can be fun occasionally but you get bored of it very quick.

To the argument of "it's called VRChat for a reason", I say make the game VR only then if that's the intention with it. Why bother allowing people without a VR headset to get a subpar experience?

I really love Emily is Away. While the internet time period the game emulates is a bit earlier than what I experienced, the vibe this game oozes is brimming with personality. I used Windows XP for years up until 2015 I believe, and the way this game emulates not only the aesthetic but the entire classic IM vibe is something I'm really just able to vibe with.

It deals with the story of love, has some happy moments and some really dramatic moments. All of that depends on what choices you make during your path. I did multiple playthroughs and each time I got a different result due to the different things I chose to say to Emily. The references to each specific time period the game takes place in were also something that reminded me of my early childhood, particularly what my brother used to do as he was the one who actually grew up in this time period. Perhaps I'll get him to play it to see what he thinks.

I also didn't mention the plethora of Easter Eggs here too. They were decently fun, especially the VA-11 Hall-A one, I thought that one was pretty fun.

Should you give this game a shot? Definitely. It's one of the most wonderful experiences on Steam and it's free! Heck, I've even moved onto the sequel and am anxiously awaiting the third entry.

I am torn. I've wanted Puyo Puyo Tetris for an insanely long time, mainly because I just wanted a way to play Tetris on Steam and this was the only game on Steam that's available to fulfill that need. That's the main reason I've wanted this. Puyo Puyo be damned. But with this...you're getting two games in one. I guess that's the whole point with what the game's called.

But why am I torn? I wanna mention a few things. The production values for something like this are fantastic. I can easily see now why the game costs as much as it does. There is a full blown adventure mode serving to present a little story mode with a whole cast of characters. I'm not all too familiar with them though, seeing as this is my first entry in the Puyo Puyo franchise(?), but the story is lighthearted and doesn't seek to accomplish much aside from having a reason to combine Puyo Puyo and Tetris into one game. I love the art style and the voice acting. The campaign itself for me ranges from "wow this is really easy" to "oh god I have no idea what I'm doing please help". But that's not a bad thing - people familiar with one game have a good platform to learn and understand a new game in a very casual environment, as the AI often enough isn't too hard on you and treats you as a newbie for a good majority of it. Some may see it as needless handholding, I see it as not overwhelming people who might not be familiar with one or the other (or both).

I also enjoy the fun & quirky game modes, Big Bang was an absolute blast to play and going on a massive win streak there against the AI is super satisfying. And the accessibility for new players is great, Puyo Puyo or Tetris - the game does a great job at introducing players to the core mechanics of each. My only gripe with this though is how there are no maps or tutorials to specifically practice certain techniques. For example, I want to learn how to T-Spin but I find it really difficult to manage setting up T-Spin combos and just end up making a bigger problem than necessary. Some practice maps where everything is already set-up for T-Spinning would've been amazing and would've definitely helped ease myself into the mechanics of the game, specifically timing. The closest the game gets to that is a few challenges during Big Bang if you choose Tetris, but you're never given enough time to complete them before it begins tallying up the results and decides the victor of that wave.

Now here's the thing I don't particularly enjoy - the online mode. I've heard of the numerous connection problems people point out but I always thought to myself that it can't be that bad, but sure enough - t's bad. There were multiple occasions when I was playing against someone and the game just freezes with a connection error. A win is added to my profile and I gain a bunch of ranks. It doesn't feel like I've won anything. That, coupled with the fact matchmaking does NOT take into account people's skill levels means you are going to have a VERY miserable time playing online-versus mode. Seriously, as a very low-skill, low-tier Tetris player, I can't last even 10 seconds with some of these people, leading me to get frustrated and leave. Online is not at all newbie friendly, as every person in the online mode will do anything and everything to win. I tried telling them to "go easy on me" but people always ignore those greetings messages. I tried seeing if there were any newbie free-play lobbies for me to have a more comfortable online experience, but it seems like the only thing anyone ever plays is the matchmaking, so online is a complete no-go if you are at all a low-level Tetris player. Don't even bother if you don't know the ins and outs of either Puyo Puyo or Tetris, you will quite literally get absolutely demolished.

Do I recommend this? If you're only interested in an online Tetris or Puyo Puyo, no. Jstris is a better & free alternative in your browser, so play that if you want Tetris with multiplayer (or go play Tetris 99 on the Switch). As for Puyo Puyo multiplayer, I can't give you any pointers seeing as this is my first Puyo Puyo, Mean Bean Machine not withstanding. If you want a Tetris game on Steam - sure. If you want a Puyo Puyo & Tetris combo game with a story mode that incorporates both while introducing unique twists - yes.

I don't regret my purchase but I only see this game as a single player only game unfortunately. I wish the online community was a little more easy-going towards newer players.

Before I say anything - I wanna give the utmost gratitude to Idea Factory for actually choosing me as one of the closed beta participants for this game. It was a brand new experience for me to actually get to beta-test and play something before anybody else can, and being able to directly communicate with the developer in a non-robotic way in terms of fixing issues (like the save game crashes or music restarts) was a unique experience I'll never forget and don't think I'll ever have the chance to experience again.

During my closed beta period, I was able to beat Rinne Utopia fully and get partway into Arusu Install. But I think the fact you get 3 games in 1 basically makes this a great buy for any visual novel enthusiast or even just a regular Date A Live fan. How about the rest of us though? What about the casual anime fan looking to get into visual novels? How does this fair as a first step?

Simply put - Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation can be considered a great first step into the world of visual novels. By that, I mean it's rather run-of-the-mill. You get the choice between multiple girls and whoever you spend your time with the most will be who you end up with in the end, with a "main" girl for a specific game coming in as the grand finale. Lather, rinse, repeat. Date A Live does not shy away from including bits of fantasy, but I won't bore you too much with the details, as for a good majority of the entire adventure - it's your generic dating visual novel.

Of course, some of the writing isn't exactly the best. In my humble opinion (which I'm allowed to share now since closed beta's over and the game's been released), Date A Live has always struggled with writing good, compelling characters and these three games are no different. A lot of the times it feels like I'm just reading incarnations of stereotypes rather than real, believable characters from these worlds. Origami is my least favorite characters because of that. But it's not always doom and gloom, mainly because the writing usually does its job at just telling a story and providing bits of fan service to those paying attention. Not all of it is tasteful, mind you (Yoshino's route in Rinne Utopia), but good for those looking for that bit of brain candy.

The point of this review is - do I think the visual novel is good? It's decent enough, sure. Do I recommend it? To the newbie looking to get into visual novels - yes. To the guy who's just looking for a new VN (3 of them in this case) to sink some time into - sure. To the hardcore enthusiast of Date A Live? Yeah, absolutely. Is this a must-buy? For the general audience - no. It's a good deal, sure, getting three whole games in one package, but it's not like these games are a must to experience. Go for it if you want to either get into VNs or you're just looking for 3 of them to sink your teeth into, but you won't miss out on much if you do decide to skip it. After all - you can always just pick it up later if you change your mind about it.

This game is actually good. Jumping into it, I did not really know what to expect from it but I ended up being very pleasantly surprised. The tutorial was quick and to the point, and while it doesn't exactly explain that you can use 2 keys for both ground and air, it does its job at explaining how the game works.

The characters, while few, have interesting variations that spice up the gameplay with their own unique abilities, suggestiveness not withstanding.

But if I could draw any parallels to this game, it would be Taiko no Tatsujin or osu!taiko if you're an osu! player. Believe me, if you've played either of those games (or both), jumping into this will be no problem. You'll make yourself right at home, especially if you're an osu!taiko player that plays with the kkdd scheme.

There are gripes with the game I have though, such as some songs rhythmically feeling like they don't really highlight what the player expects, leading to me just mashing for the most part and hope I get it right, but so far - it's been a blast.

In 3 hours I managed to reach Level 45 and unlock almost all of the free tracks but I will definitely come back to this in the future, either to finish unlocking everything or just to play for fun.

tl;dr
Do you want an anime-styled Taiko no Tatsujin for cheap? Muse Dash is for you!

(p.s. I was surprised how many songs I recognized here just by the fact that I played osu! before)

HOWEVER and I really must stress this point in particular - the base game you buy is very lackluster. While you get a pretty alright selection of songs and enough content to keep you playing (the game even gives you a selection of free "premium" songs every week), this game's base content is really a far cry from what it could (and, arguably, should) be.

Muse Dash, in my opinion, should be a free to play game with the "Just as Planned" DLC being a premium upgrade option. Because if you want any reason to go back to this game at any point in the future, you will not find much reason to replay this without the "Just as Planned" DLC. Sure, you could go for character unlocks and gallery illustrations by leveling up, but as a rhythm game - the base game does feel lacking in a lot of areas and you will dry up all the content within 15 hours of playing. Sounds like a lot but in rhythm game terms - that's absolutely nothing.

So, take caution with this. If you're still not convinced otherwise by the big addendum I wrote there, then by all means - grab Muse Dash. It's a ton of fun and very accessible, especially to newbie rhythm game players.

But if you want any semblance of content and don't want to spend $30 on DLC to get more songs, then avoid Muse Dash and look for an alternative game to play, one of which I already mentioned in this very review.

Side note: I've played this game cracked way over a year ago and I've bought the game & its DLC because I never expected this game, even when it was announced, to be any good. I feel bad now in hindsight, hence why I splashed out on this game in the Summer Sale.

As a massive fan of all 3 Mega Drive classics, Sonic Mania is truly an incredible experience. More so with the brand new Encore mode with the Plus DLC. It's got everything the old games had - fantastic level design, amazingly catchy tunes and references for those classic folk who grew up with this sort of thing. I loved it. Is it my nostalgia talking? Definitely. But that doesn't change the fact I think Sonic Mania is an amazing time to be had, and, for the first time in a really long time - a Sonic game I can genuinely recommend to non-Sonic fans. I think it's just that good.

Are there negatives? Of course there are. While the level design for the most part is great, there are bits and pieces that I do not enjoy, such as the abundance of bottomless pits in Flying Battery Zone and the sheer length of Titanic Monarch Zone. Bit more of a common criticism, but the lack of variety in the levels is also a huge missed opportunity. A lot of the best parts of the game are in those original stages, including the music (Press Garden Zone is literally the best stage in the game, design & song wise). I'm not saying the remixed levels are bad at all, but it's just that...we already had this sort of thing with Sonic Generations in 2011. This makes Mania feel like a 2D Sonic Generations at times, except with much more intuitive Classic Sonic controls and a more accurate art-style. Also the lackluster tie-in with Sonic Forces was, pardon the pun, forced. You'll get what I mean by that if you've played Forces. (if you haven't though - please don't play Forces, it's really mediocre in every way)

But despite that - are you looking for a great 2D platformer to sink your time into? Sonic Mania is for you. It's got a boat-load of replayability too - medals, special stages, different characters with unique play styles and their own unique level design, time attack, Encore Mode with the Plus DLC, achievements...what else would you want?

Seriously, it feels good knowing I can finally recommend a Sonic game again!

Despite seeming like I have next-to-no hours on this game, I played this game a ton back in 2007 and 2008. It was a Christmas gift I received in 2007 and I've loved it so much. There was so much to discover - so many fun cheat codes, so many fun modes, this game is just fun all-round. If you want a chaotically-fun racing game that's nearly unpredictable sometimes - get FlatOut 2.

Sure, it might just be my nostalgia talking, but I just have so many fond memories of this game. And believe me - it's still just as much fun as it was back when I was a kid. It's a shame the series went bad after this game. FlatOuts 1 & 2 are great games but the later installments aren't, sadly.

The game is okay. It's really nothing that'll hold someone like me, a guy who isn't interested in bullet-hell games in general, over and have me raving about it. The only reason I bought it is because I'm a loyal and dedicated Neptunia fan.

Is the game good? Yeah, I guess so. The game has 6 different levels, each packing their own unique challenges and characters you can obtain within who are more than just a reskin of each other. Each character packs their own unique weapons to deal with foes in every level. Again - it's nothing that'll hold your attention for long, but for short 15-20 minute sessions at a time - I guess it's fine. I enjoy the chiptune music from this game and I do think the aesthetics are neat - Nep & co. were put into an 8-bit space in a very cute fashion, somewhat reminiscent of the overworld sprites from the Re;Birth games. It can serve as a neat little love letter to classic arcade games from the 80s too.

There are some things I don't like though. There's no tutorial or really anything that would tell you how the game works. To its credit - the game is incredibly simple as is and a tutorial isn't really necessary, but I did fumble for a few attempts during the first level trying to figure out what does what. Another thing I didn't like is the scrolling background while playing. It's kinda distracting when trying to play with all these pixels mimicking stars passing by all the time. Oh and, you have to adjust the resolution manually. There's no in-game setting for that - the game starts in a small window and you can resize the window to however you see fit. (edit: An update to the game added proper full screen mode, which is nice I guess. Why was this not included initially?) Then there's stuff like lack of a level select, lack of a character select (you have to marathon levels if you wanna play with a specific character you like), meaning you always start from Level 1 with just Neptune and no one else.

I struggle to find what situation this game would be appropriate to play for. Maybe when you're on your PC and want to pass some time? Otherwise, I strongly feel like this game would've fit on the mobile market a lot more - this game doesn't feel like it was made for PC. It genuinely wouldn't feel out of place on something like the Google Play Store or on the Nintendo Switch. If it were on those platforms instead - I'd have an easier time recommending this to non-Nep fans because those are platforms where you can whip the game out while on your daily commute to work, school or college.

Basically - are you looking for a cute distraction bullet hell game with Neptunia in it? Then get this game. The price is very reasonable with full price being at just 3,99€ so you're really not losing much by getting this game. It's obvious this game was made on the cheap but that's not necessarily a bad thing. At this price point - you really can do worse. If you really just want a nice & quick bullet hell fix with some Nep added as a bonus, then get this game.

However - are you a diehard bullet hell fan looking for something new? Then I recommend to keep looking. Neptunia Shooter is really lacking in this area. There's really no plot for you to dig into, the game is incredibly basic in its foundation and is overall not something designed for the hardcore, which is insanely obvious. Touhou this ain't.

So, when are we getting a sequel to VII? I'm still waiting for a new mainline Neptunia game announcement.

Oh boy. They released this game outside of the US on Steam. Better late than never but I already had hours clocked in from the time I added this game to my account back when those "free games" scripts were everywhere. Elsword was one of those games I was able to comfortably run back when I had a really bad laptop with motherboard graphics that can barely handle any sort of 3D. Elsword was THE ONLY 3D game I could play that didn't require extensive tweaking and to that, I give the development team a lot of credit, as many other games at the time I had my bad computer wouldn't even start up.

And for a while, it was everything I could've asked for. I didn't mind any of the game's flaws as I was just happy to be able to play something. But as time went on, the more I invested in this game, the more uninterested I became. I stopped playing around the time I was ready to make my character go through Transcendence. And...holy hell, that single quest line was enough to permanently draw me away from the game. Never before have I seen a game be so incredibly grindy to the point where it could literally take you months to complete even a single quest line. After doing Transcendence for around a month to seemingly little to no progress, I decided to call it quits. I've dabbled in the game from time-to-time since just to see if anything has changed, and while there have been positive changes, sure, none of them really do much to improve the core experience. Stages still require multiple revisits for incredibly mundane, sometimes tedious tasks like getting specific rare drops from enemies (key word being "rare") or killing an x amount of enemies. Instead of naturally allowing your character to move through the story, it just feels like a painful slog revisiting the same stages over and over if you want to progress the story. Of course you can just skip and move on without doing quests, but you sometimes miss out on rewards like upgraded gear or just some additional exp. to get you through those tedious levels.

More so, the pay-to-win model here is just so incredibly blatant. Sometimes they'll give you these super powerful armor sets that can protect you from basically anything, but oh guess what - they only last anywhere from 1 to 14 days at the most. What's worse is that this completely ruins the PvP meta as a whole. Players in PvP are usually those who have nothing better to do with their life than to actually waste money on this game, buying stupidly overpowered armors and weapons and as a result - they constantly stun you while you really have 0 means of fighting back. There have been a few rare instances where they did give some cosmetic or useful items for free, but it hasn't been very frequent.

There's an entire ocean of stuff I didn't cover that I hate, such as the horrible customer support and the horrible way they treat old players when they make character changes, but this should hopefully be enough to convince you to just skip out on Elsword as a whole. If anything, the only times I will ever come back to Elsword will be through VoidElsword - a private server aimed at minimizing the grinding and pay-to-win of the KOG Games' version. Just avoid the Steam release honestly. Your time is better spent on other free games.

For casual players - this DLC doesn't give the player anything more than a costume for both Erina and Ribbon and one CG that you can access without any special circumstances. Besides these, there's honestly not much here for the casual crowd which sort of displeases me. This DLC is solely aimed towards the hardcore, or at the very least the more skilled crowd of people that play this game. The new bosses are definitely a doozie - even on the lowest difficulty some of them can outright one-shot you if you're not careful. And while the new CGs are really well drawn, it's just kind of a shame all but one of them are only accessible via these new, powerful bosses.

As a casual player - I was disappointed with this DLC. I expected more than just a few costumes and only one CG. My skill level isn't good enough to properly face any of the SP bosses and thus - am unable to get the full experience of this DLC. Sure it could be an incentive to get better at the game and see said content no problem but first impressions for some are everything, and honestly - it kinda turned me away and I'm afraid it might do the same to you if you're not very good at this game.

If you're a more skilled player though, you've got some great content to look forward to. The new bosses will definitely test the best of your abilities, so make sure you're well prepared for everything!

If I could put a neutral rating for this DLC, I would, because my opinion is mixed. This DLC is not worth it for the casual player but rather - should be purchased by those looking to challenge themselves a little bit and maybe get rewarded for their efforts.
