This is a GREAT game. I can't really say much. There's complete freedom, and it's more flexible than what's currently offered in the market as far as space games would go.

The con I can see here is how "empty" the galaxy is, which most space-themed games suffer. While everything depends on procedural generation, I would very much like to see high-traffic systems have a lot of NPC moving around and flying around. Since the game lacks severely in the sound department, that would make the game much more alive. There's also planets, but they're just for display.

Still, even with these flaws, the amount of fun you get from the game is very much worth the money. Support the developers, and they might get more motivated to add more stuff! Atleast this game was finished, and it works! I'd be willing to pay for another DLC that expands functionalities if it's around the same price range, and same amount of content.

Why the f* am I in the Russian server? I heard people getting thrown to random servers but I refused to believe it, until I saw myself being forced into the Russian servers, with 0 way to change the language on startup, OR log in an existing account for that matter.

The game shows 70k+ people playing the game, but it's extremely hard to find people playing on Crucible, and even matchmaking in Strikes is horrible. This is the fault of how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and finicky the instancing system of this game is. There's no seamless, borderless, open world, so it's very confusing why the multiplayer design for this kind of semi-MMORPG is this disastrous.

This was the problem from day 1. I can never recommend the game if you like doing grinds, because almost every grind requires multiplayer (help from people).

EDIT: They've done a lot of good the game since launch.

PROs:
- Absolutely BEAUTIFUL world. Large-scale, and as always, masterfully crafted.
- The sounds. From the creak of leaves to the popping of your mark canister, everything is just pure ASMR to me ears.
- Combat mechanics: Ignore the noobs who has never played an MH game. The purpose of the camera working that way is because MH is meant to be played with manual aiming. Yes combat is manual. It's not like the DS fanbois who cry "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ almost inexistent targetting system". Git gud, bois.
- Story. Again, a very HUGE improvement on story. The world feels MUCH more alive with voice rendering.
- The world. The world just feels alive. Monster turf wars, sudden hunt interruptions, dinosaurs stealing eggs, mother dinosaurs getting angry at said thief because of said egg theft... Everything interacts with everything.
- Iceborne is worth the penny. It's basically another MH game, guised as an expansion. It's the same amount of content as the base game.

CONS:
- Multiplayer matchmaking seems empty, as I'm not getting a lot of help in SOS requests. Maybe people are just focusing on higher-level hunts?
- While there are some very minor, non-gamebreaking technical issues at rare times, the game could definitely run better. I'm still blaming Denuvo.
- Cheaters on the Leaderboards. I mean those people should be softbanned.

The base game is extremely cheap at this point. Buy it. Play it.

I just edited this review to un-recommend the game because the developers are downright egotistic maniacs that think a few of them know better than more than a thousand players just because they can code a little.

And their experimental scummy release of "new content" is not something that should be forgiven for a non-gacha, mobile game.

Game was clean, but recently people have been beginning to shoot through entering corners, and was literally killed through a window because "he saw my drone inside". I wonder how he perfectly predicted at what side of the window I was in.

Plays great, but wish that there was a broader technology tree. Game is basically designed to have one gaming session finished within a few hours. I don't know if that's good thing (new to the 4X genre), but each session feels "too fast". Recommended nonetheless.

This masterpiece is what happens when a Developer promises, does not go on a celebratory party like the Prodigal Son, and actually use the money they got from early access to really deliver their promise.

Out of all kickstarted games, this is seriously the only game I will recommend. Everything else, such as 7 Days to Die, Empyrion, and all others should seriously burn to the ground for abusing the Early Access platform.

Why I recommend it:

- Made my devs. from Canada. Should say alot. (pun intended)
- Magnificent voice acting. You don't see voice acting this good nowadays.
- Exceptional theme/design. They didn't put the watercolor/pastel-style graphics out of laziness, They did it for the budget, but hell did they make it extremely pretty.
- Top-notch animation. Again, didn't even compromise. Animations are fluid, and look realistic enough, not like Empyrion/7 Days to Die.
- Episodes are well-made. They aren't just episodes thrown in together just to make the game varied. It tells a deep and painful story, and the way everything flows is just... magnificient. On par with some of the AAA dev's storytelling.
- Satisfying survival game. The game isn't as comprehensive and "large" when it comes to scratching your "survival game" itch, but it's satisfying enough.
- Very good balance.
- No zombies. No monsters. It's you vs. nature.

Cons:
- Game is 50% storytelling, 50% survival. It doesn't have a very very deep survival system/mechanic.
- Survival mechanic of the game is focused only on a "man vs. wild" setup. While satisfying, there's very little variability. You basically have 3 enemies: rabbits, wolves, and bears. They're very well utilized though, atleast in the story.
- Related to the above, some things don't make sense. Why can't I use paper as fuel to my fire? Why does paper only exclusively have to be used as tinder? Why can't I use spare clothing I see as fuel? Why does meat rot so fast when the temperature outside is less than 0 degrees?
- Also connected to above, there's just a plain lack of diversity when it comes to crafting, mechanics, and basically content.
- It's you vs. Mother Nature, but Mother Nature only focuses on cold. No other "themes" or biomes.
- A very very few selection of weapons.
- No multiplayer. It was made as a solo game anyways.

Overall, while the game lacks in some aspects, it definitely utilizes what little it has to their fullest extent. Despite some limitations on the survival mechanics, and lack fo realism, the limitatins and unrealistic hindrances definitely make sense.

The game is less than $20, so don't expect features similar to a $60 title. Considering how engaging it is, I would still recommend it any day.

Early Access Review
Possibly a good game, but currently, visuals and menus are clumsy. Graphics are completely unoptimized still, and I can't recommend it yet at this point.

When it starts getting optimized, I'll play it again and see if it's recommendable.
