There just aren't really any modern games that scratch the same itch as the classic Tomb Raider games, and this polishes up the first 3 to make them a much better experience in modern times. The level design and precision platforming still holds up; I haven't had to look up too many guides so far. Controls take getting used to. I actually prefer the new "modern" controls, but they aren't explained very well so look that up--or learn the original tank controls if you're feeling brave.

Definitely a good pickup if you want to experience one of the first and most iconic 3D video game series. Amazing on Steam Deck. Battery lasts eons at full 90fps.

New update is fire. Best time to check out the game. Freshest arena FPS in years. Has received some nice updates since launch. New team deathmatch mode is a lot of fun, and a personal favorite of mine is Terminal Attack too. Destructibility of structures is unrivaled. Feels great and plays great no matter what input device you use. Works on the Steam Deck too.

Planet of Lana | ~6 hours to beat

An indie-ish side scrolling puzzle narrative game with no words, yet still tells a good story and looks beautiful along the way.

It’s a Sci-Fi game set on a world where a race of alien robots have invaded the planet and began capturing folks War of the Worlds style.

You’ve got to navigate through some not-too-difficult puzzles and use a bit of stealth (with the help of a smol cat-like alien) on your journey to rescue someone and solve some mysteries.

It’s what I like to call a great “palette cleanser” game. It’s short enough that there’s no reason to let it sit for months. Long enough to get you invested in the experience.

The music is super good, to the point where I’ll be adding the soundtrack to my playlist. I recommend the game. Had a good time with this one.

Despite Ubisoft marking this game as "Family Sharing Enabled" (which influenced my decision to buy it now vs waiting further), the game does not support that feature. They've since removed it from the store page. Despite that disappointment, I actually am enjoying this game quite a bit and I find the "Far Cry" comparisons a bit unfair. It doesn't scratch the same itch as Far Cry for me, not at all in fact.

As of now, I'm really enjoying exploring the world, taking screenshots, cataloging new plants and animals, finding new skills, etc. I'm enjoying the traversal mechanics which I don't recall Far Cry having. The story has been fine so far. It's also not the same team that makes Far Cry games, so there really isn't as much shared DNA here as people are claiming. I dunno, I see a lot of folks echoing the same things but I personally find this to be a pretty fresh game for an Ubisoft title rather than a copy/paste.

It looks good and feels good to play. Also hooray for Steam Achievements.

I want to be clear that I think the game itself (Sucker Punch) seems awesome, and the port (Nixxes) is phenomenal. I want to give it a thumbs up. However, I cannot do so yet because I don't agree with Sony's decision to A) go out of their way to block this game's multiplayer feature from working on the Steam Deck and B) lock this game out of 170+ countries (including Japan lol) due to forced PSN-linking requirements.

I'm nervous about the precedent that sets. I'm tired of artificial barriers and third-party account requirements on PC games...I'm tired of publishers making dumb choices that not only screw over their own hard-working developers, but fans who want to buy their games. "Play has no limits. - PlayStation" | "Piracy is almost always a service problem. - Gabe Newell"

I hope to be able to one day flip my review to positive for this game.

Early Access Review
Manages to provide a fresh take on the survival crafting genre while also paying respects to Half Life 1. It's got a story and an end-goal. Still being developed (new areas coming later) but so far I love what I'm seeing and I think it's a winner.

Basically Dead By Daylight but Dragon Ball. It's a bit rough around the edges and doesn't make the best first impression, but after a few matches it starts making sense. They just added crossplay + the price is right on sale, so I recommend it to fans of DBZ.

Oh, it works on Steam Deck online now too despite the outdated "unsupported" rating.

Overall it seems like it's still getting some solid support and updates. I think it's fun especially when playing with a fellow DBZ fan/friend. I've not found that the monetization impacts my fun in this particular game. Last but not least: RIP Akira Toriyama.

After the latest patch, I can now recommend the game. It went from like ~80GB file size down to 30GB, and a lot of bugs have been squashed. Too bad it didn't launch like this, but glad they've not given up.

This game has no business being as good as it is. The combat is absolutely INCREDIBLE! I daresay it is the best combat I've seen in a 2D sidescroller. If I were to make a list of best games I've played this year, this would certainly be on it. They also keep updating it and gave me DLC for free, so that deserves praise.

This game is so bizarre and unique. Nothing quite like Kenshi.
