When Hyper Light Drifter came out I was 33 years old and I had a boring desk job. I loved everything about the game but especially the artstyle. I told myself back then: "I want to make such beautiful things myself. I want to be a pixel artist".
So I've started to read everything about pixel art, study every tutorial, finish every online course I could find, and I practised everyday. I've joined online communities and listened to feedback from experienced artists and analysed their work.

I'm 40 years old now and I'm working in game industry as pixel artist.


Games are art.
