One of the finest VNs I've had the pleasure of playing.

VA-11 HALL-A is a unique experience. VNs usually just immerse me into the story and I get invested and play them to see the story to its end. This one was different. There's the immersion to the story yes, but whenever I run the game, it feels more like visiting a fun, comforting place rather than trying to see an ending - I don't really see it ending whenever I'm playing it, and I was hoping (in vain) that it didn't.

The dialogue is excellent. Every thing and every one feels very real despite the fact that oddity is never absent in the setting. The story feels colorful without being too bright or too dull. It has that "just right" feel, as real as it gets.

The game feels therapeutic in this way. It feels like enjoying a bottle of beer alone... minus the loneliness.

P.S.
Playing with scanlines drastically enhanced the experience for me.
