some i could think of:
- use flamethrower with very large value if you don't want it to leave a visible trail of fire.
- use negative value watercannon. it won't generate steam that might interfere/destory something on its rear
- by using negative value watercannon, you can actually ditch the heating mechanism as you can put value as low as you need since you won't be dealing with steam/water anymore.

Steam plane is just a regular plane but instead of using rotor as propulsion it uses steam cannon. The basic method is the same as regular plane. Steam cannon is achieved by heating watercannon block with torch, fireball, or flamethrowers. Simply jack the power high up or use multiple instances of watercannon until thrust is sufficient.
