This games is tehnical and also kind of janky at the same time to the point that it also makes it a very fun experience to play it with friends. 10/10 Would recommend.

Started playing the game thinking it's an underwater crafting/survival game.
Noticed there's a story
Saw the game has aura of eeriness when you're suddenly confronted with weird, sometimes a bit scary, things.
Pretty much got addicted to the game until I solved the mistery.
10/10 - Successfully ignored kids & wife to finish the game /s

Amazing graphics, pretty hard to learn mechanics that are sometimes infuriating, and still plenty of bugs to be had but overall it's one of the better RPGs I've played, and I played every last quest and DLC. If you like RPGs and especially if it's on offer then it's a no brainier.

The best souls like and the easiest one yet. A lot easier to understand the lore, a lot simpler to get around hard to defeat enemies.

Ron Swanson was wrong, crying is not acceptable only at funerals & the Grand Canyon. It's also acceptable while playing this game

I think this is one of the best RPGs of all time, and the second best Star Wars game of all time. The first place goes to it's sequel. Coming back to this one, I have played it over 8 times, and each time the game surprises me in a certain way. It's truly an amazing game.

Nostalgia out of the way, I would say it still holds up to the RPGs of today with some big disclaimers of course.

First, this game does not handle modern resolutions well, or maybe even some modern systems. The game needs to be modded to enjoy it in any reasonable capacity on a modern system. The problem with modding is that there is no mod manager and there is no easy to install lore/spoiler friendly pack. A lot of work would be needed on your part if you choose to play it to mod it appropriately. I personally used the kotor subreddit pinned guide and it worked but I'm sure there are other guides out there.

Second, is the mechanics. They are very D&D inspired. This game is from an era when Bioware did not make the transition to action RPGs such as Mass Effect. Character builds are relatively important but not paramount, and not sticking to a build may increase the difficulty of the game. There are a few very hard encounters, some of which are optional. I recommend saving often and using several save slots if you would like to go in blind.

Builds are just one part of the mechanics. The other would be the style of fighting. It's more like World of Warcraft, but with a less refined interface but with the added benefit that one could pause mid-fight and think about the situation.

If the two points above did not deter you then you are in for a treat. There's a reason this game was adapted to so many platforms years after it's initial release and now it's being remade. It's that good!

This game isn't for everybody. An average playthrough is about 2 hours.

If you think that games can be art then this game is for you. The only thing I can say to improve your experience is: "You are Stanley in real life while playing the game". Take a moment to think this through while the game develops. You're welcome! :)

I'm surprised that I keep coming back to this game after all the years but the updates and mods make it one of the best games to enjoy by yourself or with someone else.
