A very good point and click style narrative game. Stopped by being great partly due to the 'ending-tron 3000', could have definitely been wrapped up with one or two endings, rather than four.

That said I enjoyed my time with it, and just looked up the other endings on youtube.

This cosy exploration game feels like it has a degree of unrealised potential.

That said, it is a fun way to spend a few evenings, but lacks anything to draw me back in.

Definitely worth a few quid to while away a few hours.

The game feels incomplete, but is nowhere near good enough to warrant the £100+ to complete it with the gated off DLC.

Enough of a diversion for a few hours if you can get it cheap, but otherwise it is trying to be both a turn based tactics game and a grand strategy, and it falls short on both.

This sat on my wishlist for far too long! Would have been worth it just for the first layer of the game, and just like an ogre it has many.

A diverting enough turn based strategy game if you like the setting. Not enough variety to make me want to stick around longer though, it is a shame the DLC factions lack campaigns.

Shogun Showdown a really good amount of tactical depth, but without getting bogged down in the unnecessary complexity of many others. The sound and visual design is also a real work of art, and makes it a joy to focus on.

Easily one of my favourite rogue-lites, and with the full version now released there is enough content to keep you going back in for 'just one more run'.

If you're tempted enough to be reading reviews, you should definitely get this game.

Whilst there are a few gripes that prevent this being a perfect game*, it absolutely nails the Aliens atmosphere. Find the right difficulty for you - easily done with a lot of customisation options - and you're in for some very tense moments as you lead your squad of marines around an infested moon.
I love the realtime/turn hybrid game play, where time will slow or pause when you press space to issue special commands. A lot of management is streamlined with the way the squad controls, and things like auto-firing upon any enemy that has already detected them.

*Those gripes are:
The interaction between the actual view and map view not being very well intergrated, eg you can't move your view by clicking on the map, nor can you view or issue way points to move to.
Switching between squad and automated drone being very clunky.
Health bars of enemies not updating while in some kind of death animation
A lack of variation in team mates voice actors, and in things they says during a mission.
The main character acting like a complete idiot serveral times during the prologue, but being fine after.

Still a solid 8/10, just shame it is not a 9 or 10.

A nice cozy job sim game, and a gradually unveiled plot make starscum vaginabound worth your time
