oh god this game is just stiff. it feels like it came right out of 1998 and I don't imply any flattery that comes with games from that era, it is everything terrible. its just really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad. im at a loss for words when it comes to explain just howdeeply clunky, janky and unresponsive the game is. AdventureQuest feels like a better proposition. I don't think this game was made by people, this is the work of Code Monkeys at best.

you come into this expecting Call of Duty or Battlefield, you're going to come out soured and angry you got turned inside out on every sortie.
You need to come into this thinking this is Metal Gear Solid, except you're not Snake, you're not even a PMC, you're a civilian, tactical stuff and cool military maneuvers is not what you're going to be doing out in this game, you're the vulture, the blackbirds coming to feed on the carcass of the dead and destroyed to survive one more day.

THE CODEX ASTARTES DOES NOT SUPPORT THE ACTIONS OF CONTINUOSULY NERFING THE EMPEROR'S ANGELS OF DEATH WHILE IMPROVING THE ENEMIES OF THE IMPERIUM.
THESE ACTIONS ARE PROVABLY SEDITIOUS, TRAITOROUS EVEN.

This game should be called: Monetization: The Game.
the game will nickle and dime you for everything. the degree of nickle and diming in this game is frankly Freakishly insulting. the game is waiting at every step, corner and gap to hit you with a micro-transaction.

its fun. the guns feels shooty, the swords feel impactful, the hammers feel weighty. it has a great deal of issues, mostly stemming Fatshark being Fatshark, meaning broken promises and endless delay in feature implementation.

2025 edit: Game is really fun. more than it was before. the game underwent severe overhauls leading to better gameplay, better and more significant choices for the skill tree of each class. Combat can range from walk in the park at lowest difficulty to sweating your nuts off on Auric Maelstrom difficulty.

new game mode were added: Stephony's Rogue-lite Gauntlet offers player to fight off waves and waves of enemies, occasionally offering objectives to complete and resupplies, of which you have to fight for of course. its honestly the better way to level characters nowadays and highly recommended.

Then there's a game mode that was introduce before Stephony's gauntlet which I have no idea what it is since I've not had the chance to play it because you need a 4-man group and I have no friends. apparently it makes Auric Maelstrom eat its heart out in terms of difficulty

I really like it. If you like Civ 5 but wish there was more things to do but Stellaris is much too big a scope for you, then this is the game just for you. its the happy middle ground, I would say. more depth than Civ 5 but not as grandiose a scope as Stellaris.
if you like 4X games, you already probably picked this gem up. for those unusre, I say give it a go, play 90 minutes with a default race on the tutorial map and you should figure easily if this game is for you or not. at current time of writing (6/23/2024) there's a 30% sale, so now's your moment to figure it out

Second worst game on Steam, nestled right between Overwatch 2 at first and Diablo 4 at third.

this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hates you. yu could dedicate 100 hours a week on tis game and it will piss on your shoes, punch you across the face and slit your throat and insult you for not having dropped 140 hours instead.
