A cute, colorful rhythm game filled with a great variety of upbeat, energetic songs - what's not to like? The notes are satisfying to hit, the timing feels perfect, (on my PC at least, your experience may vary with different keyboards/headsets) and the overall presentation is just so fun with all the characters, backgrounds, and enemies. Muse Dash starts off simply and is easy to get into for newcomers, but progressing further in the game reveals more challenging songs that demand more from your musical abilities - there's something for everyone here, from complete novices to rhythm game veterans who live and breathe games like osu!. The feeling you get when you do well on a song that you previously struggled at is like nothing else, and being able to clear some of the hardest stages is a reward in its own right for how amazingly skilled it makes you feel. Progressing through the game also lets you unlock new characters and elfins (floating companions that give you certain abilities) that change certain aspects of gameplay, adding a layer of strategic depth by letting you choose an optimal character/elfin combination for each stage.
