Well, you can see how long I've played this game (give or take maybe 5 hours left on pause). I loved it, I really did, and I'm not usually a rogue-like/lite fan.

Aesthetically the game's stunning if you like 80's sound and visuals. The plot is bare-bones, but the action is really not. O.K., once you've played one run through to level 3-2 (there are 6 in total) you've seen all enemies there are to see in the game, but the procedural levels, the RNG on items and mutations (which quite frankly make or break the game) mean you'll have different ability combinations and luck-imposed difficulty with every playthrough. Just when you think you've got what it takes to make it all the way to the end, you get killed by an easy mob you managed to miss like the idiot you are. You will be frustrated, but that just makes winning all the more awesome when you eventually do.

I must've played about 25-30 runs before I finally defeated the game. It was totally worth it.
