Great Game. Can be very harsh/unforgiving though.

Early Access Review
From someone who played WoL for 20 Hours on PC, and another 50 Hours on Switch, this game feels like a damn good sequel.

The gameplay itself is similar enough to feel like the first game, but different enough that it doesn't feel like a copy & paste.

I was able to beat the current content in the game in just under 5 hours. I have not unlocked all of the arcana or held items, but at the moment, you can't really get into deep runs as there's only 8 or 9 stages max per run.

This game is going to be great once it's finished, and as a WoL fan I'm super excited.

If you want more than 5-10 hours of content, wait until the full game drops. But if you liked WoL, and want a taste of what WoL2 will be like, buy it now and just be a lil more patient as more content drops.

ONLY MAJOR BEEF
Online multiplayer can be laggy and is pretty rough for the player who isn't hosting. Rubber banding, hitboxes being desynced, and many many bugs make it a lil tricky to play. We both experimented with hosting/joining and we both found the same results.

Bugs we encountered:
Teleporters not working properly. Have to step off multiple times to get it to work.
Gold being desynced in multiplayer.
Being told I have no inventory space when I only have 4 items. (We had to have the other person drop an item, and then I pick it up since they had max items) (Game saw that one of us had 10 items, so neither could pick up anything else I believe).
Hub interactions for connected player were a bit wonky.
Pet Dog would start getting attacked mid-cutscene during boss fights.

This game was amazing. Great graphics, story, characters. I can really only say there was 1 thing that I actually disliked about the game, and that is the repetition of music, and enemies.

Countless times you'll hear the same battle music throughout the game, whether it's for bosses, cut scenes, over-world. Many tracks are repeated. The same goes for the enemies you fight. You'll see the same enemy recolored with boosted stats used several times throughout the game. Hell even early bosses you fight end up becoming normal monsters you'll fight several times later.

This is the only bad thing though, the rest of the game is awesome.

This game is beatable in 24 hours, and I don't foresee it having much replay ability without updates.

I like the game, and it was fun at first but after 10 hours everything becomes automated and incredibly easy. NPCs will give you items that make the game busted and you have no choice but to use them. You have no control over your inventory management and it makes everything tedious. There is no scaling with the game, it never gets harder. The only 'difficult' things to do are some of the tedious Feats the game has for you to do. Dying 10 times is harder than anything else in the game, not even kidding.

The game is fun, and looks great, but I can't recomend this at $20. Terraria cost me $10 and held me for +1000 hours, Forager costs $20 and held me for ~24. Don't buy this unless its heavily on sale, or have money to burn. (Only reason I brought up Terraria is because this game was partially inspired by it, what it should also be inspired by is it's price.)
