As is far too often the case with a console port...

They want the PC players' money, but have apparently never seen a PC themselves...
There's no other way to explain why they don't stick to the standard buttons and mouse controls in the menus... Almost always people totally forget that there is such a thing as a mouse.

It's annoying every time and it's a cheek... They're happy to take the money, but to install such small standard things... what's it for?

You can also see it on the Steam forum... not one official post from the developers/publisher/community manager... PC user money is taken, but ♥♥♥♥ the PC customers

It disappears from Steam. It's unfair for all buyers who haven't read this and don't have all the DLCs yet.
A free version on GoG would have been the minimum.

Still doesn't change the fact that you didn't want new testers 2-3 month before the release and you could have fixed a lot of things beforehand and you keep running into unimportant to annoying/important bugs in the game...
Let's not start with the coop, otherwise we'd have to write pages and pages of bugs here!

It's a mess and I'm really pissed off

I hate it when buyers are abused as beta testers and then they try to talk their way out of it in the finest PR manner ...

It wasn't tested enough.
Not enough effort was made.
It's a great EA launch but by no means a full release.
Unfortunately, these are the facts!

Even in the single player there are so many mistakes/bugs... from inconsequential to f... y...
At the moment they haven't even managed to change a variable in one annoying thing... a 30 second fix...simply because there is far too much on the to-do list
and the further you get the more bugs, unacceptables etc you find. It's far worse in co-op

Unfortunately you have to say wait.

I would love to say something else, but that would be unfair to everyone involved

In a month when many good fixes have been made, i can change the negative back to positive, but especially if you want to play coop, the game is unfortunately not suitable for that at the moment.

Edit : Unfortunately, I really have to ask myself, what did the testers do?
Repairing costs twice as much as crafting.
Opened a crate yesterday and 6-8 mobs come out of nowhere and try to kill me.
Pirates with better equipment than mine come in 1-4 teams...
The balancing is just not right.

But you didn't need an established tester with 26 years of experience... Grrrrr...

I really liked the demo. It was sometimes even fixed quickly when you reported something.

Nevertheless, there are now a few bugs in the game and bugs that were reported in the demo have also made it into the game, e.g. underground meteor impacts.

There are also a few translation errors.

There are some problems with co-op, e.g. only one player can access the drone or the other can't see the marked ore.

Savegames have also been destroyed. Whether this is only a problem on the consoles or also on Steam... I have no idea

But you see... there is already a little bit there.

This should serve as a warning. I wouldn't recommend it until some of the bugs have been fixed, because they didn't have to be there. Supposedly some testers have it and they didn't want me in addition... was probably a mistake :p

As I said, you have been warned... I still give it a thumbs up.

The graphics are great.
I have up to 140 FPS in dungeons on high and DLSS.
In cities up to 80 FPS
Outdoors up to 80 FPS.

BUT unfortunately the game seems to reload things, you notice it best when you run fast in the wilderness, and then the FPS drops down to 25 FPS, which then jerks considerably.
Unfortunately, this disturbs the immersion extremely and yes, of course I have it running on an ssd.

Unfortunately, an engine.ini from the community didn't help here either.

In addition, NPCs are not subtitled when only they speak without you talking to them. This is noticeable in village or town conversations, but unfortunately also in quests where only the NPC speaks to you. In the pilgrimage quest, for example, you can't cancel the “conversation”, which is doubly annoying.

Unfortunately, many players are simply extremely naive.

These are mistakes that should have been noticed beforehand.

Edit : I just got the success that after almost 2 weeks only 50% have closed an underworld gate...

In the past it was a good game.
Nowadays it crashes every time you quit and every now and then there's a crash.
Since nobody cares anymore, the crash reports aren't sent out because they don't get anywhere.
and I have at least one major graphics error that has been there since release and has never been fixed. Since the hardware and operating system have been changed several times in the meantime and of course the drivers have been changed several times, it really is a game bug.

Edit : Unfortunately the demo does not reflect the published game, therefore no more thumbs up but thumbs down... Unfortunately.

Originalpost : Unfortunately a bit more rudimentary than I thought. I come from Starmade. It's just a completely different caliber.

Still, lots of nice ideas and at least in the demo they reacted extremely quickly and even engine problems were fixed quickly.

If only the developers would make more effort and add more features...

It could be interesting.

in a larger town with about 50 people (player and npcs) in one place I had 21 FPS... With a 3060 TI and many graphics options on off.
The last time it was this bad in Ultima Online was when there was a big GM event or you wanted to go to the bank in the maintown at the start of the MMORPG.

The fact that it's only EA is no excuse. The Unity engine has long been criticized for not being suitable for MMORPGs.

The first battle quest was also strange... extremely many enemies in a village, but they have no aggro (otherwise you couldn't complete the quest either. Only with a raid group)

That could be done better...

Everything else I still have to see... but the first hour is so little fun and doesn't really show you anything of the game.

Unfortunately, the “classes” are nothing special either.
If you go for life steal, you can go for healing at the same time... or must because there are only 5-6 skills for life steal...
Just because you can use more weapons plus their skills doesn't make it any more interesting. There is no necro and the 5-6 life steal skills are not that interesting either.

I'll keep playing and report back.

Edit : Crafting is unfortunately also nothing, because you have to grind rifts for it, which few people do and solo it is not possible as a life stealer.

All too little, all too unrounded, unbalanced ...

Nothing works as a lifestealer. Kiting doesn't work, crowd control doesn't exist... Pets as tanks don't exist...

Rather just annoying at some point... Fun is something else.

Edit2: there's more going on today... 10-15 FPS in the first big city... and as I said, it's simply not down to the graphics card...

Since I would have needed certain resources for crafting, I wanted to grind creatures... I can't, because where I know that I get the raw material 100% I get no XP and therefore no loot... no loot because you are too high... I'm really not getting any more, that MMORPG is really %§/%

The music gave me goose bumps at first...
The graphics are good, but completely unoptimized. Even if I lower the power limit of the 3060 TI by 50%, the game still runs at 100% GPU... many UE5 games can do better with similar graphics. There is still a lot of room for improvement.

Nyras doesn't work at all for me as the main character. Too nice a voice in German. In general, all the voices in German aren't rough enough and all of them are still far too nice in character...

The typical Gothic Humor is also almost completely missing. I still have to add at least 90%.

Only new graphics don't make a current Gothic. There's still a lot of room for improvement.

The combat system is buggy because blocking doesn't work. Since I'm a role-player and not a Dark Souls player, this is the worst combat system ever for me.

That's why I give the prologue a thumbs down for now and I hope the game gets a thumbs up, because it will be rougher with much more black humor... Just Gothic.

it looks extremely cheap, e.g. the font above the scanner.
too few explanations, die too often
many bugs (gui disappeared, boost suddenly stopped working etc.)

Simply no.

Edit : Extremely small studio or single developer, but three games in the pipeline being developed at the same time.
That says it all.

Edit2: I hate something like that to death... You complain about moderate bugs and a company that has few or only one developer but works on 3 games at the same time and then you're a fool...
People if you can't think for yourselves ok... but to reveal your lack of intelligence like that... Shame on you.
