thats great to hear, insurgency 2014 is the best shooter i have ever played, and still play today. i loved the medium sized maps and the fast and fluid combat paired with the hardcore systems like faster kills. sandstorm with its larger maps and inferior engine made me go back to ins 2014. i hope you can realize your plans in the future somehow, and hopefully on source 2.

Ins: MIC was gold. Ins2 was quite good. But details was missing, i liked original game much more cause we maps we played were actual places like Haditha, Buhriz etc etc. And we played as actual teams: USMC and Insurgents. Squad and other games are much more serious, and yeah, hardcore games are mainstream now. That's why we never forget who started it. And yes. Fallujah brought me back in that atmosphere of late 00s-early 10s in Ins: MIC.

I would love to contribute to or create a new tactical FPS, if the opportunity arises. Insurgency was a product of its time in game history, when hardcore gameplay wasn't mainstream. Since then, there are amazing tactical FPS that I know first-hand from their developers have been directly influenced by Insurgency, including Squad, Hell Let Loose, and Onward.

The closest game today to the original vision that I had for Insurgency two decades ago is Six Days in Fallujah.

I have some design docs and notes for new games, but no finances or time to make them on my own. I tried starting a new studio just a year before the pandemic, but business decisions beyond my control took the wind out of our sails.

I'm focused now on teaching courses for a college Game Design diploma program in Canada, and it's humbling and gratifying to help inspire the next generation of game designers. It's the most rewarding experience in my games career thus far.
