Poker never had so much character! However, expect plenty of RNG and grind if you're looking to get the achievements or play the game to the fullest. I think the game overall is interesting and there's a lot to enjoy when the game can be enjoyed... but like I said, lots of RNG to grind through. It will take many runs to find a "good" one and even more luck to find a run with enough synergy to face the highest antes.

I didn't really feel addicted to this game like others have stated but I did put a good amount of time into it. Jokers mechanically are interesting and there is plenty of strategy when you can get the synergy together. Game really became a slog on just the third level of difficulty. Some decks are great but obviously some will outperform the others quickly. Still haven't won with the starter red deck. Number of hands seems to matter more than anything else. Really enjoyed using the unlocked decks. I think there's a bit too much luck involved with unlocking everything as there's plenty still left for me to unlock.

The worst part of the entire game is the RNG. Great runs end instantly with bad discards or jokers not triggering. Removing risk is VERY hard to do and the game suffers from players unable to smash through bad RNG walls and/or a well placed boss blind. Too many things working against the player and feeling helpless most of the time finally killed my will to keep playing. Getting to ante 6 is pretty easy but everything after is a mess of difficulty spikes or, again, bad RNG. I can't tell you if it's bad balance or just supposed to be luck of the draw completely left to the game.

The best part of the game is overall appearance and feel. When things line up, synergy clicks, and your efforts aren't wasted, the game is extremely enjoyable. This is what kept me playing the next run and had me looking forward to the next unlocks for over 20 hours. The game is worth the price tag in my opinion.

If the dev works out some things for player balance, I think the game can be even more enjoyable. Maybe give a choice of starter jokers? Maybe make some niche jokers stronger so there's less punishment when a bad discard happens? Lots to think about. Gave the game a 8/10 in my head.
