What a great $10 spent! This spin-off (prequel?) is a great way to tip your toes in the newly created Bloodstained universe, and should tie you over until Ritual of the Night, the actual game. Don't get it wrong, though. RoT will be an actual Metroidvania game with 2.5 graphics. Curse of the Moon is linear and, as you can see, boasts NES-style graphics.

Short but sweet, this game should take about 2-3 hours. Each stage doesn't wear-out its welcome, and the bosses are fun to figure out. However, it's a little easier than old Castlevania games, which might disappoint some. There's branching paths in each level, also.

Not only does it look old-school, but it plays old-school. You cannot change directions mid-jump, and if you jump without moving, you just jump vertically with no arc at all. This can take a little getting used to, but you should be over it pretty quickly.

There's two diffculty modes, those being "Veteran" and "Casual." Veteran mode has limited lives, and your character gets knocked back when taking damage. Casual does away with life limits, and you stay in place when hit.

There's four characters, with three being unlocked as you play through the first few levels. The all have their own style of primary weapons and secondary weapons/abilities. Use each to your advantage, and keep an eye out for areas that can only be reached by a certain character!

Buy it. Wait for a sale. Get it gifted. Whatever, just play it!

It's pinball. If you like pinball, you'll like this. It comes with a free table which is actually pretty decent, but you'll need to pay for any others. I suggest looking up any you're interested in on YouTube before buying.

One of the best games I've ever played. Get immersed in a large world that will have you hooked with captivating writing and some of the best side-quests you'll find. Your horse can be pretty dumb, though. Not only is the base game wonderful, but both expansions are worth your time and money as well, but if you have to pick just one, get Blood & Wine.

I was excited for this, but the more I played, the less I liked it. Here's some bulletpoints...

- Characters are flat with practically no development, sans maybe one person.

- Story isn't engaging in the slightest, and the writing is one-dimensional and cliche.

- There's a lot to do. Probably too much. Take that as you will.

- Kingdom managment is a neat idea, but executed with the grace of soggy bread flung across the room. Researching things takes on a "moble game-esque" approach of slapping on timers, even allowing you to shave-off a bit of time by spending in-game currency. Every empty lot has it's own building that must be built there, disallowing any kind of placement freedom.

- The devs couldn't decide to have voices or not. Sometimes you'll hear characters speak their lines, but most of the time they don't.

- Unless you tackle enemies that are way higher leveled than you, the combat is pretty much a cakewalk.

- Great graphics. Captures that Miyazaki look just fine.

To sum up, the game's weakest area is in the characters and writing. The combat won't blow you away, but it still could be worse. One of those games that drags on and on.

Not even done with it, but I can safely call this a hidden gem. If you've somehow found your way to this game's store page, you have the chance to play a real treat. Combining pinball with metroidvania (let that simmer in your mind for a minute), Yoku's Island Express is a fresh take on a solid genre.

PROS:
- Addictive gameplay
- Great flow
- Secrets to find
- Beautiful artwork
- Relaxing

CONS:
- I honestly can't think of any.

NEUTRALS:
- Save points galore
- No deaths (You just lose a bit of fruit)
- Length is supposedly around 6 hours

A sleeper hit for sure.

A great baseball game that doesn't take itself too seriously, and boasts solid customization features. If you want to play a quick game, you don't need to sit through a whole 9-inning game. Set the innings to pretty much whatever. You can also tailor your season with how many games it lasts, how many teams make playoffs, etc. Truly a game that respects your time if need be.

If you're the creative type, there's the option to create your own teams. Design the logo, name, jerseys (both Home and Away jerseys can look completely different if you want), players...it's there. You can't quite free-draw anything, but there's a decent portion of different graphics to make your logos with. Think of it like Forza graphic making. Bringing multiple pieces together to create something unique.

There's also a great difficulty system called "Ego." Set this number up to 100. The higher the number, the harder the game gets. Thanks to this system, you can perfectly tailor your experience. Ego can be changed while you're in the middle of playing a game as well, so don't be afraid to experiment.

My only minor complaint is the game could use more presentation. There's no commentary, and the only speaking you'll hear is when batters are introduced. The only instant replays that occur are after home runs. Unless you win a championship, there's no victory celebrations after a game. Nothing like players stretching before a game. None of these are deal breakers, but I feel they would add to the immersion more.

If you crave baseball on Steam, this is your top choice.

It kind of pains me to give this a thumbs-down. Iconoclasts was a game I should have researched more before buying. The game started out strong enough, and I was really enjoying it. It was a nice mixture of action and puzzles...then turned into little action and more puzzles. I felt like I was just playing a puzzle game at that point, and not the good balance I experienced within the opening hours.

I love the art. I like most of the writing. I like the characters. Unfortunately, the gameplay didn't keep me hooked. Once I realized it turned into Puzzleclasts, I lost all interest and haven't had the desire to return since.

An excellent survival game packed with intrigue, mystery, and terrors of the sea. Venture into deeper, darker waters and feel the thrill of encountering the unknown. Subnautica does exploration and discovery at some of its finest.

Like every other survival game, your goal is to collect, craft, and create. Your ultimate goal in this game is to get off the water rock you crashed on. This will take bravery, as Subnautica has some hostiles who want to eat you, with a few of them being colossal in size. There are some ways to deter attackers, but most are non-lethal, making the game even more intense.

I do not recommend buying this if you have Thalassophobia. It may still be just a game, but even as someone who doesn't have it, it still makes me nervous from time to time.

Worth full price.

After 8 hours, I have to call it for my own playthrough. I'm done. The gameplay is enjoyable and tightly responsive, and the atmosphere is fantastic. There's many nooks and crannies to find stuff in, and even surprise moments that'll take you off-guard.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get over the insane amount of backtracking (even for a Metroidvania), and the sparse fast travel/save points. If they allowed fast travel between benches, this would hold my attention a lot longer. The thinly spaced Stag Stations aren't enough.

There's also one other gripe: Lack of direction. This world's map is gigantic, and yet to save time and frustration, I chose to look up where to go next. Even remembering things that can be accessed with a new power sometimes doesn't lead you in the right direction. I get that some people love this kind of thing, but don't have the patience or time anymore to wander around aimlessly and hope I find something new.

Despite my own hang-ups, I still recommend it. I enjoyed most of my time with it. It just had some things I perceive as issues, and if they don't bother you, then all the more power to you. You'll like it even more than I did.

Yooka-who? This is the best 3D Platformer on Steam that isn't a port of an old PS2 game. A little short (10 hours), but each hour provides great amounts of entertainment. The worlds are nicely varied, and there are some moments that make you say "Well, that was clever!" There are moments when the camera won't work with you, or some collision detection wonkiness, but both instances are somewhat rare.

Performance is mostly fine. The first world has some frame drops, and a part involving an elevator later in the game that dropped my frames down to 2-5fps for what seemed like forever. I wish I was kidding. I had to endure it until the elevator reached its destination, and then the game restored itself to normal. I'm not the only one who had this issue, as I've seen a few others make mention of it, Probably just a rare issue.

Wish it was a little longer, but great game.
