Game of the year 2019 imo.

One of the greatest games i have ever played. Only complaints are really minor that the top 1% (kinda me aswell) of people would care about like how little gravity there is, how inertia isn't present and reversals were taken out of the game after the demo was released. The story really tries to play on the nostalgiastrings for veterans of the series so take it with a grain of salt. The story itself is ... just okay. The gameplay though is where the game really shines (which is true for all the other DMC's as well). It has such a high skill ceiling and once you understand it completely the sky is the limit. In terms of how dificult the characters are to learn it is as such:

Nero = Easy to learn, hard to master
Dante = Hard to learn, hard to master
V = Really easy (can win+get high style rating by just spamming attack buttons)

My personal gripes with the game (really picky things to point out):
- No turbo mode
- No LDK mode
- DMD mode has a bit too high healthpools for my taste
- Some specific demons is really annoying to fight (Nobodies and behemoths)
- No breaker-swapping (Apparently the developers think that making devil breakers choosable only one at the time at the start of the mission encourages more strategy than being able to switch between them on the fly in combat)
- Devil breakers and weapons locked behind DLC/Pre-orders

Some good points:
- Graphics are fantastic
- Well optimized (Runs fantastically on my GTX 1060 6GB and 10 year old i7 CPU)
- Great enemy design and boss design
- Challenging gamemodes + great replay value
- Deep combat
- Great music
- Level design is linear (which fits this type of game)
- Aesthically levels fit the themes but some of them do get a bit "samey" (Cliphoth levels)

Get it if you love A-RPG's and satisying combat.

Fantastic Art Direction
Great puzzles (especially the harder ones). If you get stuck you are probably overthinking it. Atleast that was what happened to me most of the time.
