Iconic blend of strategy and rogue-like RNG. If you're on the fence about this game, it's on sale for a cup of coffee.

I mean, if you haven't played this game or known someone in your friends list who hasn't, you don't really have an excuse not to buy it. It's the cost of a pack of gum on sale.

Aside from that, nearly endless replay value and amazing to play with friends on a hosted world!

I just got this a few hours ago, and I've already realized that I've found my newest time sink.

It's everything that I hoped it would be: Metroidvania in progression, Shovel Knight in combat, and Ori and the Blind Forest in the platforming and art. And way better and more intriguing of a story and characters than Ori.

Solid buy, even if it starts at $14.99. Hey, people still buy Shovel Knight at two years later at $24.99 so...

It's also not even the first three months of the game's lifetime. Fingers crossed that the game's both satisfyingly long and maybe even DLC...? maybe i should finish the game first

You better hope to god you have an Intel-i999 Core to run this game. Easily the most **CPU**, not GPU, intensive game I've ever played. I'm talking up to 79% CPU usage average for running this game alone.

BUT...

It's free to play
It's MMO, so you'll never have a hard time finding a fight
It's got lazors
It's got spandex
It's got beautifully rendered basically everything. The engine's from 4 years ago and still it looks great

Just note that there's a bit of a difficulty curve space elevator that's pretty daunting. Be sure to play with a buddy so you guys can team up and have fun together - otherwise you'll get discouraged.
Oh, and it's an internal launcher. The Steam download is just the launcher - about 23 GB total of a download once you've got the launcher.

It's great though, trust me!

My god, this game.
Believe it or not, this game is the very first game that got me addicted to tastefully difficult games like Hyper Light Drifter, XCOM, Dark Souls (kinda at least), Crypt of the Necrodancer, and some others I can't recall.

Weird thing too; I think this game is the only one that I can say is the hardest in the first 10 minutes and infinitely easier in the 10 hours after.

I've had this game for 3 years, never even gotten a rank, and still my friends pester me to play.

11/10 knives are cool for some reason

It's exactly what it looks like, save for the difficulty. The difficulty for this game scales pretty closely to the BPM of the track, and hence, your movements. Like all tastefully difficult games, you may die a gazillion times even to the same enemy but you'll know *exactly* how and why you messed up. It's never the game's fault, although your angry tongue will say it is.

8.6/10 Green slime OP

This is the best turn-based tactics/squad game that I've ever played. The mechanics are brutal and (usually) fair, the story is pretty good, and my god, the atmosphere is on point. You really don't realize how hard it is to defend the entire world from aliens until you've played this game.

9/10 loaded from a previous save 999 times and loved it anyway

Just look at the Metacritic score.

This ranks among some of the most legendary entries into video gaming hall of fame:

They all have the same score of 96/100.
Or just get it for the textures for Gmod, that's fine too :P
