I feel bad requesting a refund for this game, since it seems to have a lot of potential.

According to the videos, that is.

Unfortunately, my time spent with the game was almost exclusively dedicated to watching loading screens. On the off chance that I was miraculously able to connect to a server, the frame rate dropped to the single digits. And the offline version was worse still. There is no way to save your character, which means you'll be forced to repeat the same boring tutorial missions over and over. Monsters can kill you with a single hit. Not that surprising, since all the creatures I encountered were level 116 and higher. In the very first town, no less. If you happen to bump into a monster near your level, your attacks will do absolutely nothing. Healing items have no apparent effect in battle. Also, it's impossible to sell your merchandise to local vendors.

All in all, in its current state, this game is as broken as can be. I can only hope that there'll be a playable version of this game ready in time for the next winter sale.

Shoot the zombies.

Shoot the zombies some more.

Shoot the zombies again.

Earn a preposterous amount of achievements.

Have some fun.

This is my second go at reviewing this game. At first, I gave it a negative review because of the problems I had and bugs I encountered. Since that review was posted, the developer addressed the issues and has pledged to fix them.

With that having been done, I can now say that this is a game worth playing. It's a fun tribute to the classic NES era of gaming. The game is chock full of challenging obstacles and enemies, and requires plenty of patience, dedication, and a healthy amount of trial-and-error to achieve success.

My only real complaints now are with the checkpoints, which seem random and could stand to be more forgivingly placed. I'm also still not too sure about my overall objective. Also, the keyboard controls are still awkward, but plug in a controller and you'll be good to go.

All in all, this is a really fun game.

I've played Earth Defense Force 2025 on my Xbox 360.
I've played Earth Defense Force 2025 on my PS3.
And now I'm playing Earth Defense Force 2025 on my PC.
Between these three versions, I've sunk over 400 hours into this game.

I need help.

I have long been fascinated with the famous Dyatlov Pass Incident, and so when I learned that there was a game based on said incident, I had to play it.

The events are mostly shuffled off to the side in favor of fiction. Bits of story are revealed here and there as you discover notes scattered across the world And speaking of the world, I have to say that it is far too large for this type of game, especially since the in-game map can only be properly utilized at certain safe points, making it difficult, if not damn near impossible, to determine where you are at any given moment.

There is only one enemy in the game, but he can appear pretty much wherever he wants to. Deaths are also instantaneous; combat is a no-go, for whatever reason. This means that you'll spend far too much time running away from encroaching danger than you should.

Thankfully, the positive points outweigh the negative.

The location is pitch perfect; the snowy pass and darkened sky provide a perfect, oppressive atmosphere that drips with tension and menace. Even with the map issues, exploration is almost always enjoyable. The graphics and level design are excellent, making every new area you come across a joy to behold. Little easter eggs are scattered here and there. These don't have any impact on the story, but they certainly encourage exploration.

However, Kholat is still difficult to describe accurately. It's a game that really needs to be experienced on your own.

Despite all its flaws, it's still quite an enjoyable experience. I definitely recommend it.

Putrefaction is a surprisingly fun little shooter in the vein of old-school horror shooters such as Doom. It's definitely one of the better first-person Unity-made games out there.

There's really no story, just room after room of enemies. I liked the enemy design, and found there was enough variety to keep the monsters from getting old. There is also a quality array weapons, ranging from axes to freeze guns.

At a dollar, the game is a bargain. You'll get a couple of hours worth of fun gameplay and cool monsters. Really, you can't go wrong.

Honestly, I have to say that the soundtrack to Ubermosh is one of the best that I've ever heard. The musicianship is great, as is the composition. Like the game itself, the whole album is incredibly addictive. If you enjoy rock, buzzsaw guitars and a little bit of industrial - or, if you just want to pring the pulse-pounding power of the game into your everday routine - then this album is for you. Check it out.
