This game is basically a kaleidoscope turned into a game. You progress from playfield to playfield, and everything is repeated endlessly. Every playfield has a set challenge that you have to solve by turning your perspective and transporting squares with a fixed gravity direction. Each side has an assigned color, and blocks will fall to the ground as long as you are aligned with that gravity. If you change your gravity, the blocks freeze in place.

All in all, the game was fun to play. The puzzles are challenging until you get the hang of them. There are more concepts introduced during the game, giving you a greater variety of challenges. However, I felt that the challenges lacked a bit of depth compared to the amazing kaleidoscope-like graphics. If you play the game for the mind-bending graphics and you enjoy puzzling a bit, you are in luck 🙂

The first run was over pretty fast for me because I didn’t understand what happened when the energy dropped to 0. Because of that, I thought it was going to be hard to get to the border and I had wrong expectations of the game. I’m glad I stuck with the game and gave it another try. It’s really not that hard and a lot of the game is more about the characters you meet. You will meet them several times with different hitchhikers and graudally learn more about their objectives. It’s not too procedural at all if that’s what concerns you.

The game is super fun to play for everyone who likes to puzzle but also likes to look ahead so that you won't put yourself in a misery later on. You have to develop a kind of feeling for what tiles are common and what to avoid. You can always put blocks together somehow, later on you will find that the gaps you have created are filled by the most unlikely blocks.

The music is very relaxing and suits the game quite well.

They made a boardgame out of it, looking forward to play it aswell.

The visuals are amazing. Everything in the game is hand penciled by Michel Ziegler. The game has basically no ingame UI, everything is neatly packed away in the journal and backpack you are carrying. Only hints and textboxes are displayed directly during gameplay.

The audio in this game is awesome, both music and voice. The games voices are exclusively spoken in romansh which is the often forgotten 4th official language of Switzerland. The sound design is terrific and the music suits the game so well.

Early Access Review
I've got it a couple of days before and I'm already 30 hours in and we just got to the late game (lategame for the time beeing) we are not yet done with building the best gear possible and we still have not beaten all bosses. It is super fun to play together and push the limits. Building is unique and the snapping / grid is super awesome. Much better building than in other comparable games.

The difficulty is challenging which I like a lot. Once you get metal gear you really feel much stronger but when you don't have good food you're still basically as strong as a new player. I like the system where you level all things by using and not having classic levels etc.

KEEP IT UP. Awesome game!

Played the game last year on gamescom and that got me interested. Followed it and it is finally out. I think the game is super easy to get started with and it's very easy to sink some hours into.

Also I got a ring of pain pin from the developer Simon at the end of gamescom :))

This game is a super short yet super emotional game. If you have an hour to invest I strongly suggest giving this game a shot. The interactions are a unique mix of digital comic and animation with a bit of "puzzle" on top.

Another great Amanita Design Game. This time it's more of a puzzle game where you solve puzzles room by room.

This game is just a perfect example of how much you can do wrong on the UX side but at the same time try to innovate in gamedesign. It's a unique game but just playing the tutorials will give you UX nightmares. The controlls are rather complicated, you can't turn volume down until after the tutorial. The settings is a globe where you have to walk to the option menues which is a nice gimmick but so frustrating if you just want to turn sound down. The modals for yes/no questions has the button you select white and the non selected slightly gray which is the opposite of what you see nowadays, so you don't really know which one you selected. The window is not made for modern screens and the list goes on and on.
