Eric Barone understands the complex nature of grinding and the psychological aspects which go into it. I think that what he has done is created a masterpiece which requires you to think about goals and the sizes of them.

When starting Stardew Valley, I had no idea that it would have so much depth. For a game made by one guy, I was surprised time and time again, even when discovering the most simplest things such as the mines. Then, as I grinded, upgraded my tools, and set more and more goals, I began to find more and more exciting things. The game is just is a constant stream of surprises. There are secrets to this day that not even the community know about.

If you like games with progression systems and lots of exploring and secrets, Stardew Valley has it all. I'm only keeping this review brief because there is so much to see in the game, that I'm worried even the simplest things I mention will be spoilers. Just play it.
