This game was honestly great. It's a shame that the play-through only lasts about 6 hours if you just casually play through it like I did.

Beta seemed pretty well but still not much to go off of until full release. Will update when that time comes.

Review For MW2 (2023)

The fact that I had to perform a complete factory reset on my PC to just play the game is absolutely ridiculous and shouldn't have to be done.

This game is okay. If you liked MW2019 you'll more than likely enjoy this one.

I HAVE NOT PLAYED SINCE SEASON 1 AND WITH THE RELEASE OF MW3 COMING UP I DECIDED TO GET BACK INTO IT. I PLAY 1 GAME AND BUY THE PUMPKIN PRO PACK TO IMMEDIATELY BE SHADOW BANNED BECAUSE OF A "POTENTIAL VIOLATION.


Pros:
Gunplay feels decent.

Most maps are decent. (Except Santa Sena Border Crossing. Whoever designed that map doesn't deserve a Christmas Vacation.)

Campaign is pretty good.

Camo grind is a bit easier.

Cons:
Reworked "Easier To Understand" Battle Pass.

The UI is absolutely horrible.

In certain cases to unlock a weapon you need to level up 2-3 other weapons just to be able to use the gun you want unless you extract with it in DMZ.

Crashing. (As stated above I had to completely factory reset my PC to even be able to play the game after the Season 1 update.)

SBMM is absolutely atrocious this year. (Went 55-3 in my first game and the next game I was paired up against Shroud's little brother for the next 4-5 games getting absolutely shredded.)

VRChat plans to add Easy Anti Cheat in the next update. What will it do for the game? Well let me show you:

Lower framerates.
Increase instability.
Stop script kiddies.
Stop "wholesome" mods, accessibility mods, and quality of life mods.
Stop AMD FSR/RSR, Intel XeSS, Nvidia VRWorks SLI from improving your framerate.
Stop Linux users from playing via proton. (They claimed it wouldn't yet it does.)
Stop Linux users from playing via Windows virtual machines.
Lower the playerbase.

Stop ripping.
Stop crashing. Most Crashers Are Placed On Avatars. Not Clients.
Stop all malicious mods.
Stop all malicious actors.
Stop SDK modding.
Close the security holes in VRC Udon.
Improve the game experience.

Take routine snapshots of the user's desktop/video buffer.
Scan all processes running on user's machines.
Kill or try to kill all "unknown" or "untrusted" or "unregistered" running processes. (Including homemade processes.)
Locate the files of "unknown" or "untrusted" or "unregistered" processes and upload them to Epic's servers.
Scan the user's C:\Users\ folder and appdata folder.
Stop users from launching the game if Windows fails to install/update itself "correctly".
Stop device drivers that are "unknown" or "untrusted" or "unregistered" from running. (Including homemade drivers.)

VRChat devs, I know you don't care because you're hiding all the complaint posts on the feedback canny and ignore everyone's requests to just add the QoL mod ideas into the game, but for the love of god don't add EAC and listen to your community's requests. It is not good for the innocent users, the "wholesome" modders, and the QoL modders. Also change whoever is writing the blog posts, they're so super tone deaf.

Can't Recommend This Game In It's Current State Even If It Is One Of My Favorites.

VAC does not work on the Linux version of the game, so people made bots that terrorize the casual playlists. If you want any hope of enjoying this game, you need to either be playing on a community server or FaceIt TF2. Faceit TF2 is essentially dead now so there is only community servers.

Update 7/3/2024: Seems Valve have started a decent ban wave against bots. Most bot hosters are getting game bans along with the accounts they make pretty quickly. The game is actually playable again, but for how long? No one knows so enjoy it while you can.

Update 10/24/2024: Bots have been gone for a bit now and I still haven't ran into a single one. I know their out there because people have posted clips of them but it seems to all be good now. Changing the review back to positive for the time being.
