On the first look, Fabledom seems to be a neat cozy game, hitting all the right notes. But after a while (in my case 5 hours in) you realize it's quite bland and lackluster.

On first impression, it hits all the criteria for a building game, different civilian tiers, food, coal for the winter, several resources, and even production chains. But soon you notice, there aren't many grayed-out buildings, in fact, there are 4 different resource-gathering buildings corresponding to the 2 buildings that process the raw material. (to my disappointment iron doesn't even need to be processed, you just dig it as iron bars out)

Reaching 'higher' tier buildings isn't an issue of resources but rather of time, and here is my main issue. This game is slow , extremely slow, idle game for your phone slow. And there is actually nothing cozy about waiting half to one hour for your lumber mill to finish its stupid boards so you can build something, I even built several lumber mills which kinda tank my economy so I can progress faster, playing it on the fastest speed wouldn't help either.

Besides being a rather primitive and simple city-building game, there is also a hero and army system, about which I have nothing of value to say besides there is one. Can your hero and soldiers attack something? - yea maybe 3 different enemies per map. And you can send them out for missions, but the mission is just a text block with a probability value.

There is also some sort of diplomacy, but as with the rest of the game it's also quite primitive, I admit I appreciate you can trade with them.

So the last point, which I mistakenly thought was the unique selling point of this game, is that you can marry your neighbor. How does it work? - Do some MMORPG like quest and at the end you marry and you get a text that you are married, and also a buff.

All in all it's a bland, uninspired game with some neat ideas which were never fully developed.

It is the year 2021 and currently there are more bad Paper Mario games than good ones and sadly this will stay like that. But on the bright side, thanks to the broader PC market, other people can fill that void.

And here we are, this game is truly amazing it's not merely a copy. No, they took the core mechanics of Paper Mario and managed to make something distinct but you can still see the similarities.
My only concern before I bought this game, are the same teammates throughout the story and how they manage to make various puzzles with them, but not only did the devs succeed, no they mastered it beautifully.
The battle system is quite the same, with the only difference it relies heavily on blocking. I guess my only concern would be the boss fights are a little too straightforward, I would rather prefer if they had some weak points.
Talking about Battles, they also implemented the Medal system, but with a difference, the medals are more useful than in Paper Mario which is great and leaves you room for experimenting.
Also, there is so much variety of things you can do, interesting side quests with actual characters that are not only NPCs, cooking is here too and even a card game with an... let's say a quite solid system.

All in all its amazing, they hit the essence on Paper Mario on spot, the humor, characters, story, art style, even the music, fits perfectly together and delivers you an experience that reminds you of the good old days of Paper Mario but at the end of the day, you want more of this game.

Early Access Review
Its just another open world survival sandbox game in early access, not even that special tbh
combat is clunky and slow, AI more 'A' than 'I', also I dont understand why people praise the graphic, its just ugly and you can see its a unity game

its like DayZ all over again
(you are wet)

I don't know why this is so highly praised

its just temple run with fancy music, hell it's not even rhythm-based, most of the time the beat doesn't synergize with what is happening on screen

its a music video at its best than a game

it's always great if the developer keeps silent, without any information about the future

who knows if they are even working on this game

The journey is the reward
Well, this can be true, but not for this game.

Credit where credit is due, yes this game got a nice art style, looks like a hand drawn painting and yes there is a nice soundtrack - and that's it. You cannot justify 15 euros for an 'atmospheric experience', that's about two hours long.

I just don't understand why people added the 'puzzle' tag, the only puzzles are just brainless 'press the bright red button in that gray dystopian world', I guess valve's game tester could call that a puzzle. Also, you have to manage your vehicle, maybe the only small spark of gameplay in this 'game'. But you can basically summarize it in; if there is wind set your sails, if there is no wind turn the engine on, release the steam regularly and put some fuel into the engine.

But hey don't do all walking simulators have a deep emotional story? Nope not this one, well a blessing for all illiterates out there, there is no single letter except the menu screen and no dialogues. So basically you have no idea where you are and whats the reason behind that journey. My only thought during the two hours was: 'where the ♥♥♥♥ am I even going?'
So back to that 'The journey is the reward' crap, well, this is true, but only if you have a goal you are striving forward, but not when you are wandering aimlessly from left to right, without a clue when it ends.

tl;dr - its two hours long, good music, good art style, no gameplay, buy it on sale.

Kingdoms and Castles is a neat little game with a clear artstyle but no depth, and that summarizes it.
Its a simplistic city building game and you experience all its content in two hours. There are like ~20 buildings in total, split up in four catagories 'castle', 'town', 'food', 'industry' and there like three production chains. Of course its still possible to waste your time for several hours if you keep expanding and build a huge ass city on the whole island, but i had no motivation for that.
Also there are several issues, like:
- you cant prioritize buildings, so if your people are dying of a plague you cant cure them because there arent enough citizens who can work in the hospital.
- sometimes youll be invaded by vikings and if you send your soldiers out, they have an attack radius of three milimeters, so you need to constantly move them
- there are no upgrades for buildings

Dont get me wrong, its surely is a nice game and 10 Euro aint that much, but its still more of a principle question if those 10 Euro are justified and i say no. Also if you can buy anno 1404 for already 10 bucks its not an equal competitor.

I finished this game in three hours and it was a waste of time. The game is divided into two parts, one is driving your train and the other running around in a area to gather loot and killing the zombies.

The train driving part is made of petty minigames, where you have to litteraly press one button so the train doesnt shut down. Also you have to feed and patch up your passengers, you will be rewarded for every passenger who made it, but it doesnt really matter if they survive since there are no consequences when they die.

The get the 'code out of this area so the train can drive' part is probably the main section of this whole game. There are four different kinds of enemy, you kinda kill them all the same way (by shooting them durr), no need for special tactics. Also there are only three weapons, of which one is an upgrade of your starter pistol to a machine gun. This part is kinda redundant, doesnt feel really satisfying to finish these areas since the difficulty is way to easy. Props for the ammo management, you'll find ammo from time to time but you still cant shoot around like a maniac and sometimes you need to rely on melee kills.

The story is absolutely cryptic and nothing was properly explained. Also there is some exposition during the train driving part via dialogues between the passengers, but you have no time to read them since you are busy playing stupid train fixing minigames or sometimes you litteraly cant read them because you have to fix something outside of the passenger wagon. And in addition there are the good old info dumbing notes distributed all around the area.

The pixel art is quite nice i guess, but from time to time you have backgrounds from real images of which the resolution was lowerd so they appear pixart like. Cant say much about music, so i guess it wasnt really noticeable.

All in all it was ♥♥♥♥ dont buy it.

Pros:
-artstyle pretty good
-good OST
-the controls are solid, despite what the other reviews say, it works fine with keyboard

Cons:
-Its way to short with its 19 bosses
-Most of the time you run, so it feels like they artificially stretch the length
You run long distances between all the bosses
Every time you die you have to run to the boss again
It feels rather annoying than challenging since you die at least 3 times to learn the pattern of the boss
-Well the story doesnt really matter in this game, but they still tried to imply something

Its solid game, but I wouldnt buy it for 10 Euro, buy it on sale
