Early Access Review
Okay, fine...

If I could give VRC a "neutral" review, I honestly would, but as promised...
Here's your positive review VRC.

After I posted my original review, the VRC team slowly pushed out updates that added in most of the major important features that mods added to the game. Good on them for that. That was honestly my largest complaint.

Easy Anti-Cheat has also helped with the amount of crashers that I've personally seen on PC (though, I'm not the most ACTIVE person on the platform, so take that notion with a grain of salt). There's a small tank in performance, but updates seemed to have fixed it for the most part.

I've also noticed less crashing and general issues thanks to the majority of the better updates the VRC team pushed out after the dreaded EAC update, so that's pretty nice.

It's still hard to give this a positive review due to the lasting scar the EAC update left on the community, but...
Maybe it was for the better?

ORIGINAL REVIEW POSTED SHORTLY AFTER EAC UPDATE:

The newest update that they are intending to push shows that the developers have no clue what "mods" are actually hurting their game. Adding Easy Anti Cheat to a non-competitive, social VR game makes absolutely no sense, and actively hurts a large portion of the community that relies on them to not only run the game, but to add disability features to the game. Without these mods, a large number of disabled players will no longer be able to enjoy the game, and many with under-powered PCs will struggle to join worlds with larger groups of people.

Please reconsider this update devs. You're killing a huge portion of people who love this game without actively pursuing the major issues the game has. Crashers will still upload avatars that can take out entire lobbies. Avatar rippers will still continue to steal players avatars. Implementing EAC does not proactive for this game, and leaves the toxic hackers to thrive.

Edit: Devs pushed the update despite a large portion of the community protesting it. The only promise is that they are "reprioritizing, reorganizing, and changing our internal roadmap to focus on the feedback you've given us." The fact that a large portion of the player base will no longer be able to play this game until these updates release (if they release) is disheartening. VRChat devs took a big L on this one, and until an update is released that fixes the things the mods were able to fix, I will be leaving this review as negative.
