Great game. Good story. Lots of great things I could say. Loved the villain, loved the story arc, loved the main protagonist's journey into madness.

Too bad Ubisoft has to force their god awful broken uPlay that will randomly erase your CD Key and force you to spend weeks just getting your game to work with their terrible customer support or buy the game again.

This game was more of a challenge than I expected, and the story was good too. I'd recommend this game. Was certainly worth what I paid for it. Nine long hours of gameplay.

Oh yea and the soundtrack is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ badass.

EDIT: Starforge is now "done". It isn't. It's still crap.

Starforge is an example of how NOT to do Early Access.

When I buy an early access game, I can understand having some bugs. I expect it. I expect the game not to be polished. But when you post videos with features displayed in those videos, I expect them to be in the game, no matter how broken they are.

But then when one, two, three months go by, and the game is still so bare bones and not a single update has come to pass, you've pissed me off and lost my support for good. The game today is still horribly broken and still lacks features flaunted as being part of the game already. They only just recently finally added survival, despite having videos of survival mode since, like, last year.

Don't spend your money on this. It's a wonder if they'll ever even finish the game.

If I explain it, I'll ruin it. Just play it. Trust me on it. I wish I could give you a better review than that.

You're either going to love it or be bored to ♥♥♥♥. If you like story though, you'll like this. If you want flashy explosions and action, I suggest you play something else.

While it's an interesting game, there is a very steep learning curve. For someone who loves RTS games but sucks at PVP, this was a sorry disappointment when I learned I could not play cooperatively with a friend.

The interface is wonky. It's difficult to select squads of troops and common controls like shift-click to select and deselect individual units do not function. The campaigns are incredibly frustrating even on easy due to very narrow maps an inability to flank your opponent. Furthermore the campaign is scripted and tedious even when you beat your opponent. It's a relentless process of bulking up your forces and smashing the enemy's defenses head on (because you can't flank) and then waiting two or three hours with no fast-forward while scripted enemy attacks send predictable waves of troops and tanks at you. That isn't strategy. That's turtle tactics followed by spam.

Multiplayer options are harshly limited. There's no CPU players. Manpower points (currency to buy units) are extremely unclear. I don't know how to view how many you have or at what rate you gain more. Command points (value of units you are allowed to command) default to 80 which is barely enough for a couple of tanks, much less troops to support them. The max, which I think is 160 or 180 or something, still limits the size of your army more than I like. There's only one game mode and it's capture the points. What happened to bases? I'd like an enemy base to go destroy and experience a real feeling of victory. Not sit on a flag until the timer runs out in a glorified King of the Hill RTS.

Men of War 2 is allegedly going to have cooperative gameplay. I look forward to this. Don't get me wrong--the concept of the game is a good one. But, don't spend your money on this unless there's a good sale going on. Otherwise maybe the sequel will be better. This one is interesting enough for me to be interested in the sequel.

Forever in development purgatory because the developers keep revamping the whole damn thing every few years.

I still remember the old system of having to learn stuff from books and build certain items from molds or whatever. Not saying it was perfect, but the progression has changed so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ times.

The leveling system is a slog, and now I'm hearing they want to nerf farming in the next update because the developers envision the players having to always be on the move and not settling down in one place. My brother in Christ, why did you develop an entire building system and voxel terrain if you were going to not use it as anything more than a gimmick?

Also they keep developing zombies and mechanics to completely nullify your base defenses. "Hahah, joke's on you! You thought you were safe and cozy in your doom bunker? Think again!"

The devs are just trying to feel smarter than their players at this point. It's not a game. It's a competition. The farming nerf they're going to add is just another step down that road.

This is a once fantastic game which is being gradually ruined by devs who want to feel like they're smarter than the rest of us. Or maybe they're desperately trying to get more play time out of it by dragging out the experience. Games are finite experiences. No matter how hard you try, players eventually get bored of it. Accept it and make their experience while they are here one of the most memorable things they can have. The game already has oodles of replayability, especially when played online. Stop trying to nerf things just to force players into an unnatural play style which contradicts the very core of the game. If you didn't want us to stop and build a home, you shouldn't have given us all these base building features.

... No. NO. I can TELL you're THINKING about it, devs!! Don't! Don't you dare!!

A disappointment to an Ace Combat fan like myself. The "dogfight mode" is very clunky and glitches out very frequently, making the screen spaz. Combined with a sub-par storyline and lacking those superweapons that made prior Ace Combat games so much fun, and the fact that no level can be played without using Dogfight Mode or some variation of it beside the badly controlled helicopter missions, this game really was below my expectations. It is definately one of the most disappointing releases since Ace Combat 3 (the English version).

Okay, if not for Ubisoft's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ uPlay, I'd highly recommend this game no brainer.

Previously the game was basically worthless after you beat it, and it's very short, despite being such a cool idea. Mods never existed for the game... until recently. Now there's a script hook that unlocks a sandbox mode for any level, which is much more powerful than the sandbox style last level of the game.

I strongly recommend this but only if you're willing to deal with the ♥♥♥♥ uPlay. Considering they LOST MY CD KEY FOR THIS GAME AND THEIR CUSTOMER SUPPORT DIDN'T HELP ME FOR SIX MONTHS, I can't recommend uPlay. I mean, jeeze. Steam support gets a bad rep but at least they respond in like a day and are sometimes extremely helpful.

Don't buy Ubisoft games. Their broken DRM will mean your game will inevitably stop working, forcing you to either ♥♥♥♥♥ to customer support that your key has been used, or buy the game again. Especially for single player games, just pirate it.
