Let me preface this by saying, I was one of the people who thought this game was the greatest AC Ubisoft has ever done. Just a masterpiece of the classics. If you're in the same boat as I was and want to keep it that way, DO NOT replay this game. Leave it to the nostalgia and memories you already have of playing this game and continue living happily ever after.

TL;DR: The only real improvement over AC 2 is the graphics. Everything else feels rushed, unfinished, or just plain old padding to make the game feel bigger. Re-releasing AC 2 with those flashy assassination combos would probably make a better game.

Negatives: The story is meh. There's like two important people you kill over the whole game. When the most memorable character is a cardinal you chase through a church during a side content, there's probably something wrong with the writing. The parkour somehow feels even worse. If in AC 2 they gave up on Venice, here, they just gave up entirely. The stealth is completely broken. Some missions you just fail because the guard "spotted" you while you're in a middle of an air assassination. That doesn't mean he saw you before or during the animation. You just get spotted when you make contact with him. ♥♥♥♥ you. The side content feels more varied but just isn't. They split you running over a city to collect one thing, to you running over a city collecting multiple things (and still getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the end). There are also "templar agents" on the map. Why are they templars? Because Ubisoft said so. ♥♥♥♥ you (x2). The addition of side objectives in missions is a cool idea in theory but you will want to jump through your monitor in some cases. Ezio (and everyone else) is a little brighter than before but the big dumb epidemic still rules over the universe. Also, *a really minor spoiler* Rodrigo got completely shafted by the writers. He could have died in AC 2 and nothing would have changed.

There are some ... good ideas. The "brotherhood" part of the game is a cool concept. It'd be a shame if they didn't do anything with it except you being able to press a button. Leonardo's missions are a cool addition (even the one with the ... "funny" side objective). You can renovate Rome, I guess. You will eventually find out that you spent as much money to renovate it as you've gained so there was no point in doing so but ... what else is new with the side content in these games? You get discounts in shops ... cool.

Finally, EVERY. SECOND. MISSION. IS. A. TAILING. MISSION. Am I exaggerating? Maybe (I'm not), but it doesn't feel like that, it could even be more. For a reaaaaally long time, you will be following someone. Be it an enemy or an ally.

Yes / No is not the best system Valve could come up with when ti comes to reviews. This game is not BAD-bad but would I recommend you play it? No.
