Hackers wrecked this game, and nothing was done about it.

When players began quitting, they responded by flooding the game with stupid overpowered weapons, vehicles, orbital space cannons, and other nonsense that people have to grind for, buy shark cards with real money for, or... hack. I'll give you a hint which one people usually do. It's the option that requires the least effort and the least money.

So yeah, the hacking problem got worse because they never actually dealt with it, and their marketing choices ended up encouraging it.

Effective money making methods were nerfed into the ground or totally deleted from the game. Money making methods today rely on not getting griefed by a community made bitter and toxic because hackers already ruined it for them, and the only joy that remains is making the experience miserable for everyone who is left.

The only people who still play are modders, hackers, or people who are addicted to it.

Far Cry 3 is just... better. Sure you get a Gyrocopter but I find myself just unable to give a ♥♥♥♥ about the main antagonist.

Personally I don't recommend any Ubisoft product because of uPlay but if you're going to buy a Far Cry game, get Far Cry 3 for story, or Far Cry 2 or 5 for gameplay. Far Cry 4 is just lackluster in both these aspects in my opinion.

It'd be great if the game's UI wasn't absolutely horrid and completely unintuitive.

Also the community is pretty toxic as well. Just look at the comments in any negative review. God forbid you point out a flaw with the game. You just get accused of being dumb / lazy / etc, because you couldn't figure out how to play the game with the miserably bad tutorials and confusing controls. Oh but you tell me "well you only spent 2 hours in the game, you need 20 hours to get an understanding of it" as if that's normal. It's not. I've learned hardcore flight simulators in less time. Unlike most of you, I don't have 20 hours a week to dedicate to this game. I have a job.

You know what game gets this large scale block building thing right? Space Engineers, for example.

This is just Assault Squad 1 repackaged and slightly worse with bugs the devs haven't fixed. They keep rapidly "updating" the game with useless crap which serves only to break mods. The company has some scumbag business tactics including a $10 DLC just so AI work, and they don't even work that well. The AI from those DLC is just so miserable it's not even fun to play.

The only real upgrade is now we have the workshop to install mods which makes the game actually fun.

No, I do not recommend this game. Not on its own.

"Oh but they need the money." No, I've met one of the devs. I used to have him on Skype. He's a straight up cynnical ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I don't talk to him anymore. Dude's a jerk and it shows in the way this game is being sold.

"Oh but you spent so and so hours in this game!" Mods make a lot of bad games worth while. So I guess we at least have that. The base game isn't fun. It's only fun when you mod the hell out of it. Don't spend your money on this game. If you already have it, then whatever, I won't stop you from enjoying it, but don't encourage your friends to buy it. That's the best I can do.

Really just... incredibly dull and not fun. The levels are poorly designed and the enemies aren't challenging and the storyline just isn't all that great. Coop mode isn't a whole lot of fun either. The game is just not amusing enough to keep playing. It's just not any improvement over Sniper Elite 2.

Go play Sniper Elite 2. It's more fun, and can be gotten on sale for much cheaper. This one just isn't fun.

Not worth buying. Not many populated servers, and the ones that are populated just aren't fun unless you enjoy spawn camping.

Then again I don't like Counter Strike either, so... maybe it's just me.

I have played this game from sunrise to sunset for the past 2 weeks until some stupid mod (I assume) catastrophically wrecked my save. Literal 16 hour play sessions. Space Engineers is now a great game.

I'm still distrustful of Keen after they abandoned Medieval Engineers and nearly abandoned Space Engineers as well, but it looks like they're finally getting their act together.

I hope they continue improving this game as we wait for Space Engineers 2. Every update seems to finally take community suggestions to heart. Like, here's an idea. How about NPC spacemen threats? We've seen character bots as part of some mods, why not wrap that into the main game after some polish and paying them off? And frankly, more and better world encounters are always appreciated. Maybe fix up the economy system and get rid of that dumb minimum price requirement.

Anyway, take your time with the sequel, keep printing money with this one until then, and release some better cosmetics in the meantime would ya fellas? I'd kill a man for a playing card / poker themed space suit.

Jam-packed full of some pretty severe glitches and bugs including disappearing floors and infinite loading screens. Cannot recommend this until these glaring bugs are fixed--and these bugs wre worse than usual.

Not worth the price gouging by the company selling the game. They jacked up the price just before a "sale" and advertized like 70% off or whatever, but it was really much less. The price hasn't gone down.

Anyway, you can see I have 31 hours on record. There's two main storylines depending who you save at the start of the game though they don't differ a whole lot. While the game doesn't have a ton in the way of replayability, it makes up for it with the story it does have, lots of game time, and very fun FPS gameplay. It's incredibly satisfying to shoot stuff. The weapons are all interesting. The story actually gets you invested.

You really just have to play it to appreciate it.

If you can, play Old Blood before playing The New Order. Old Blood is a prequel to this game, and makes a lot of stuff make more sense, although it's considerably shorter.
