Update (5/23/25):
It's been long, and I've once more come to revisit my review.
To make it short, I've come around to recommending the game again. Most if not all content added, as well as patches for balance have been a positive. The most recent update giving life to many divers from all corners of the system to defend super earth is a welcome sight.

While I do recommend the game now, I still believe the following should still be brought to awareness for most newcomers.

For one, the game still suffers from a Kernel Level Anti-Cheat, which is never good for consumer privacy. This choice of Game Guardian still discourages me to touch the game as often as I used too. Especially given how frequent cyber attacks are getting. Yes I may sound like a boomer but given I’ve been a victim of it I know the consequences of it. However Arrowhead does give you the tools to remove game guardian when the game is not in play. An uninstaller can be found in the game files, and most game studios don’t even have that level of foresight, so I applaud them there.

Now for the opinion bias part. I’ve lost most enjoyment of the game due to the simple factor of. Not everything is viable in end-game content. It’s a big ask, and some power creep is healthy for a game. But given that in most high level games everyone runs the same three sets with no diversity is a bit dull. What doesn’t help is the new warbonds haven’t been the most viable. There is a theme to them however, and it could tell a story but that’s not my point here. Consider for a moment we’ve been given a secondary slot precision orbital strike, a weapon that shook the endgame meta for a bit. To be given two identical mid-to-long range rifles in the following warbonds which don’t do the necessary penetration. It’s quite an awful feeling. I cannot be too harsh due to these content packs being more for the “Casual Fans” which I am not.

I would like to clarify this isn’t me saying “people shouldn’t be in anything under difficulty 9,” people are allowed to play how they want. I’m just a little taken away from the fact that two jump/hover pack divers with arc throwers/HMGs will do much more than a mech can dream of doing. Make stuff more balanced in the high difficulty, then it’s balanced for all difficulties.

But I digress, thats all I have for this review update.

Till then.
