Walk in a straight line, attack what-ever you want, die. Wash, rinse repeat. That is how the general gist of this game progresses. There isn't a whole lot of depth to the game, there aren't many weapons, aren't many variations of enemies, no characters you really connect with, the map areas are general generic type fanatasy locales, and no real story line (other than to stop The Darkness) which is stated in the opening 3 seconds of the game. However this game has something going for it... charm.

If that sounds silly just run with it for a moment. There is very little to do, or really unlock that can't be done easily. Unlike the game that drew me to this (Faster Than Light) you can unlock everything in nearly 5 hours, the remainder of the time will be playing with these unlocks. However the goofy commentary from the few NPC's you do find are enough to distract momentarily from the humdrum of walking to your right. That is where this game gets its charm from. The constant breaks in the basic mechanics of the game for a fun, light hearted gab between pixelated characters.

Finding all the secret endings and characters endings will be what make you come back to this. The small morsels of charm that you get are what will make you enjoy coming back to it. However, don't expect to be able to play this for long periods of time. I found that the game is best when played a few run throughs at a time. Any longer than that and the charm kinda wears off and the simplistic nature of the game robs from its potential.

Additional peripheries were pretty decent as well. The music is fun to listen to but after prolonged time periods begins to grate at your ears. The graphics are simple enough and give it a classic RPG feel that allows me to relive the days of early Final Fantasy's. Mechanics are simple and will be picked up with one minute of playing.

Feeling in a good mood today so let's give this game an eeked out 7/10

When did gaming culture love graphics more than content? This game right here. This game is the perfect example of how you can make a turd of a game, then make it look pretty and everyone will love it. Other than that there are no saving graces what-so-ever.

The story line, is the most cookie cutter thing you can imagine. "We need to save the princess." -> That's the entirety of the plot. The characters are bland and boring. Each of the three main characters, are about as cookie cutter as you can get. The interactions between the characters offers no additional story or plot mechanic to make you care about any of the events or personal ramifications of their quest.

Gameplay, terrible. Just terrible. Can you press the RB button on a controller? Yes, then you will destroy this game no problem, even on hard. Spam the mage abilities to solve the "puzzles" (this term is used to a looser degree than my mom), it really is that easy. When in battle, just switch to either the warrior or rogue, fight off the enemies, of which there is really only 1 type with a couple variations, then switch back and run forward. With all the "hints" turned off from the beginning, I never once got stuck on a "puzzle" for longer than 45 seconds.

Don't buy this game, it's just a turd that was spray painted gold. The last boss of the main game, I laughed when it was over because it was so bad. I would rather sit through the last hour of Mass Effect 3 again, than buy another Trine game... Fact, not fiction.

You'll finally get to know what the Millenium Falcon felt like as it tried to outrun the Death Star explosion in those tiny tubes at full throttle. Minimalist everything, except the complete relentlessness....

Straight puzzle game, and does it excellently. The non-linear nature of the game, along with some excellent puzzles will give you a hardtime. The mechanics of this game are handled very well. The music is decent enough, never distracts from the experience. The artful visuals add the mystery of where you are. All in all a good time to make yourself feel stupid.

Alright, so this thing... This is a nifty little arcade style point and click shooter slightly reminiscent of an astroids style game. Things like, energy capacity that regulates your ability to fire, fully auto fire, and different types of guns will be your main differences in control structure.

It's a fun game, but should probably only be played 5-10 levels at a time. Since you can continue from the main menu after every 5 levels or so. Battle through 50 levels or so, and then the checkpoint system disappears, marking the end of the main game. However this is one of those games that is not defined by the end game, but rather the experience. You can run through the same levels again using different bots to keep things fresh.

The sounds of this game can grate on you after a prolonged period of time. Remember that asteroids reference, if you liked listening to those sounds then you will love this. If you're like me then after an hour or two those little beeps, blips, bleeps, and chimes will really annoy you. Not enough to distract from the experience of blowing up bots, but still annoying.

I got this through a coupon from a badge I crafted for like $0.30. Get it while it's on sale for a fun little casual game that allows you to shoot cute little harmless bots dead. Bee-boop. Bee-boop. Bee-boop. BLORRRP!

Just stop and enjoy the sights and sounds. That's the vibe I get from this. Most of this game is very well done and fun. The pixel art is finely done and matches almost flawlessly with the soundtrack. It's a short game taking me just under 10 hours to get just about 100% done. That may be longer than average since I really enjoyed the art and sounds of the game and would find myself drifting off just admiring them.

However I am not going to learn a fake box language that is my only gripe. Seriously the only one. Everything else is great.

A great casual game. Sountrack is simply amazing. Don't expect much depth in terms of this game, but the jokes are funny, the theme fun, and puns from other video games are all up to par. So if you are looking for something light go with this you should get some smiles and laughs from it.

Blah, blah, blah, that describes the story, the gameplay and the difficulty. Puzzles, if you want to call them that, to get experience, boil down to draw something out with the mage and then push it off the hard to reach ledge to the ground. Combat, get the warrior and just charge mashing the attack button. Platforming, why even do it when the mage can just walk across everything with even the fainest amount of intuition.

The auxilaries to what this type of game is about, meaning graphics and soundtrack, are good. Not good enough to save this abysmal experience. You can just pass by this for something that does this gameplay sytle properly.

I liked this game and it was fun while it lasted, but a malfunction in the core won't allow me past the first part of the last mission. So I cannot recommend a game I'm not allowed to beat. Once the game gets to the Noah Colony it gets pretty good for a while. Then it tails off at the end leaving a mediocre taste in your mouth. If you want more you can continue reading.

At the end some problems become apparent. Your ships remain un-upgradable just stacking points on, the Angelwing was god-like at the end. While others wither to your backlines because of a real deficit. Then you get a few ships late in the game that never really live up to anykind of hype. Wonky AI that will take a ship attacking another behind an ally not allowing your ship to fire. Mission with the convoy after arriving at Noah Colony, I'm looking at you.

Some equipment is downright pointless. Seriously, lasers... never worked for me. Then you have the Cyborg units, I was like cool I'll land some heavily armed men on a ship (even a small one) then take it over from the inside, or destroy it at least. Nope they just go in and die, not from the counter unit batteries just infiltrate, be there for a bit, die, or return to the ship like nothing just happened. Aside from a few side missions that net next to nothing, there is no reason to waste points on them, except the Angelwing since you'll have nothing better to spend them on.

I was awaiting the ability to command an armada and thinking it was going to be glorious, but it really got rid of some of the intensity of the fights. I found most of my time trying to micro-manage the movements of the fleet to keep them in a battle formation that made any type of sense. Once conveyed into battle units twist and rotate at random, tending to push guns out of sighlines forcing them to stop shooting. So you need to manually move them with the shift key, which isn't explained in the tutorial. Then clicking and unclicking the modules that were once an awesome dynamic to the battlefield, now, a tedious chore that prolonged a battle for longer than it needed to be.

Yet, it does get it right throughout most of the game and for that I can say I enjoyed the game. It balances strategy and tactics with an emphasis on prioritizing targets and launching suicide runs with your fighters to occupy the anti-fighter guns while your bombers attempt to do strafing runs. The ability to adapt to ever changing circumstances in the constantly shifting battlefield will push your plans out of sync. Force you to improvise at times, and sacrifice the few to save the many.

So the modules are a cool little thing that lets you send battery power to boost the efficiency of weapons, engines, shields, etc. to over 9000. Which also opens a vast array of strategies to utilize against your opponents. Strike out with the Brutus, then full power to shields and engines to try and lure a few overzealous captains into range of the Angelwing. Which in turn strikes with a fury.

So there you have it. Like I said this game gets it right for most of it, but tails off at the end. There are few others that can match it in gameplay while "right" but the end just kinda made me happy it was over.
