Incredible software, can't believe that this can be free!

Easy controls, much customizability in terms of keyboard shortcuts and theming, easy to get into, pretty stable as long as you don't do anything crazy or hacky, and produces amazing results with little effort.

Sometimes you have to deal with some really annoying problems, like fixing broken materials or what not, but that's not too bad (and only is the case for TF2 stuff, really).

Some things could be made easier, such as material editing, fixing session files from crashing, or working with the gameinfo file. But due to its intuitive design and many tutorials, you won't find yourself lost quite often.

If you are an eager movie maker or artist that wants to use assets from already existing games, this is the program for you. The community is also very helpful about any questions you have!

But if you're looking for either more realistic stuff with more control on materials, or an engine with less limits (like poly count), check out Blender or Unreal Engine 4 instead. Both have a comprehensive toolset for movie making, animating and poster rendering (Blender even doubles as a modelling program).

@GoPokeRangers! When you finish a tutorial in SFM (there's some 1 hour starter guides), you can start out doing your own thing right after.

To do the same in other programs, such as Blender, you need to watch 10x more tutorials to get even the basics down (even when *just* focusing on animation/posing/camera movement).

Easy controls, sorry but controls are not even close to easy when you just start using it

1. Remove the gameinfo from the dota 2 folder.
2. Be sure you wrote Dota2 the same way in both the gameinfo.txt and in sfm's game folder.
3. Load Dota2 AFTER |gameinfo_path|., you HAVE to move it down at least by one, else there's loading issues.

In my dota 2 folder (the sfm one I made) I have these:

In the gameinfo txt it says this:

Ummm, what's inside your Dota2 folder in "game"? And also what's the contents of your gameinfo.txt (upload to pastebin.com maybe)
