One of those "Wish Steam Would Add a Maybe Button" Nos.
I'd say I got my "money's worth" out of this DLC but unless From Soft reconsiders the Player/NPC interaction (or lack there of) and how they implement difficulty as a concept this'll probably be the last Fromsoft game I buy, been playing since DS2 (went back and played DS1 afterwards) and just watching every new game and piece of content get progressively more deranged and spammy (press B to dodge simulator) I think SotE's finally hit the point where its tipped over from challenging to just kind of annoying.
A real shame cause the world building, exploration and art is just a real chefs kiss, brought down by From drinking the "git gud" koolaid (something I've noticed some capital G "gamers" have been finding to be biting them in the ass lol)

Edit: Just finished the final boss of the DLC and its definitely a "This is the last thing Fromsoft makes I'm going to play" because wowza it just. I'm speechless. I've never felt less fulfilled after beating anything From has made. I really don't know how to put it into words beyond just. "Wow. Glad that's over."

All the real gameplay content updates are 100% free with the base game, these are just to support the devs, and the extra crazy thing is that cosmetics you can get in game look just as good as dlc cosmetics
The most consumer friendly game devs on the block

Barely managed to beat this gem, its by no means perfect and I got lost and frustrated quite a few times (directions and platforming are far away from being my strong suits) but it has such a charming design and Sybil controls so well and is amazingly animated (thicc jokes aside). I have nothing but the best of wishes for this dev in anything they hope to pursue going forwards, they've certainly flexed some incredible skills with this wonderful little number.

Early Access Review
A cool pop-sci-fi factory sim all about building a Dyson Sphere.
It takes a lot of cues from Factorio & Satisfactory (intentionally or not the comparison is still apt) and is pretty great in its own right. It can be a bit of a struggle to get the hang of but once you get a feel for it its good fun and quite satisfying to master.
You can also heavily customize the shape and asthetic of your dyson sphere in a surprisingly robust editor, allowing you to create a unique megastructure all your own.

Trains on mars are very cool conceptually but they were implemented very half-arsedly, they're annoying to place and the UI for them is baffling, using them to transport any kind of resources is an exercise in frustration as the trains will aimlessly transport resources back and forth with no rhyme or reason.
Their only use is to transport workers to remote locations (mostly just bringing people to mines).

This isn't a dig at the mod-makers involved in creating this, the lack of support is entirely on the devs' (or more likely the people who write their paychecks') heads. In fact id you do decide to buy this there are multiple mods for doing their best to fix and improve the useability of the trains, bless their hearts, including the mod-makers whose work this DLC is based on.

Very big buyer beware.

Adds another layer of gameplay, its optional but powerful, very unrealistic but fits the game well enough.
The reward of truly automated farms that you can plop down anywhere is very big and well worth the investment, being able to build an open-air capital city and being able to remove all the domes is also pretty cool (though you're still restricted to the dome foundations.

A fairly fun pop-sci-fi game about, get this, surviving on Mars!
It has some quotes and references that aged like goat milk (Mr. Musky ain't so cool) and its faar from realistic (Its very deep in the pop-sci-fi hole) but if that doesn't matter to you its got a fair amount of replayability especially with the mysteries and breakthrough techs that are semi-random between playthroughs and a variety of maps with varying amounts of challenge.

I'd avoid most of the DLCs, they either aren't very value for money or worse, as is the case with Below & Beyond and the Trains DLC are very undercooked and janky (not in any way the fault of the mod maker for the trains dlc in fact they, and others posted a bunch of bugfix mods since PDX isn't going to).

The one that's really worth getting is the terraforming DLC, again unrealistic and pop-sci-fi but it adds some extra goals to do.

SupCom 2 is quite different from SupCom 1, in many ways its a downgrade, maps are generally smaller, there's much fewer units and their roles are much more streamlined. The Research mechanic replaces unit tiers, making basic units stronger and unlocking stronger units at the cost of research points gained through combat & research generating structures.
The economy is also much more like standard RTS like starcraft where there's no storage and units and structures instantly consume their energy/mass costs instead of draining it over time. Things like radar & shields have no energy upkeep and mass converters instantly convert bulk energy into bulk mass very inefficiently rather than a constant conversion.

At the end of the day if you're a huge fan of SupCom 1 its a pretty disappointing sequel, but its not a terrible game. I'd pretty flatly categorize it as being "fine". Its plenty fun, you still get big stompy units though the sense of scale and destruction isn't as high. One thing I like better in SupCom 2 over 1 is that your Commander unit actually stays fairly relevant throughout the game as a combat unit, in SupCom 1 its too easy for Strat Bombers and Experimentals to destroy your Commander in seconds, in SupCom 2 units having generally lower damage and Research boosting the strength of the ACu means you can be pretty ballsy with it as a frontline support unit, especially with the UEF ACU.

Another thing SupCom 2 does is there's a lot more experimentals, to the point where there's experimental factories. In some ways this kind of makes the experimentals feel less special but it makes mass producing them easier, its a land of contrasts all around.

The biggest issue I have with the game is the campaign however, much like the transition from Starcraft 1 to Starcraft 2 the "player character" is no more, instead you're playing in the shoes of predetermined characters in a linear campaign that goes from faction to faction UEF > Illuminate > Cybran. While its disappointing its not the worst, what's much more frustrating is how rather lacklustre the story is. Rather than carry on from the plot threads left over from the end of Forged Alliance, SupCom 2 shrinks the scale of the conflict to a single solar system rather than the galactic conflict and focuses entirely on a microcosm of a handful of random gruff UEF soldiers pulling a Fletcher and going AWOL on the coalition, an Illuminate terrorist cell who thinks the coalition is diluting their religion and some mysterious alien power that's NOT the Seraphim.

The matter of QAI's survival, the Seraphim still lurking beyond the rift, and the matter of the Order of the Illuminate are all completely ignored. Its a servicable campaign but painfully generic after the rather epic scale of the original SupCom and Forged Alliance campaigns..
The highlight is William Gauge who's a kooky cybran antagonist who likes to quote poetry and chat with his opponents. The lowlight is the only returning character from the original SUpCOm being character assassinated.
