GRIS may be the best video game that I have played all year. There. I said it. I think its better than Spider-Man. It managed to be gripping from start to finish without a single line of dialogue.


Lets get the obvious out of the way first. This game is a work of art. Some have rightfully called this game: "F12 simulator" because every single frame of this game could be framed on a wall. The game's art and visuals look hand crafted in such a way that it feels like a playable painting.


This game MUST be played with good headphones or a great speaker setup. The sound design is TRANSCENDENT. Even the small sound bites including how some of the actions you take in the game sync perfectly with the background music and are just amazing. It feels loving crafted. Although I could say that applies to the game as a whole.


I absolutely adored this game's story, even though there were no voice lines in the entire game. (At least according to my interpretation) this game tells a fasinating story about overcoming one's fear and self doubt in such a beautiful way.


Buy this game. It may be short and it may not be for everyone, but I was enamoured with this game from start to finish. It is my favorite game of 2018 and is an artistic masterpiece. Yes I think its better than God of War. Play it.
