Early Access Review
Played this game a lot when it became available on steam for the first time, recently picked it up again and there has been so much content added. I'm easily around 50 hours of playtime and just unlocked all the characters and there's still new stuff to come. The full runs (later in the game) take a bit longer than your average roguelite/like (up to 45min) and there isn't a safe feature in between dungeonfloors, but besides that it's fun, decent bit of variety, original ideas, good sound design and a good rate of progression.

An "action roguelike" that raises the bar for all other roguelikes. Unlike a lot of the roguelikes out there this one is polished beyond even AAA games. It checks all the boxes of what I like in my roguelikes, endless replayability, tough but fair gameplay and vertical progression. Hades delivers all that and more... much more. The artstyle, sounddesign and voice-acting is on another level and this roguelike has an actual proper story that progresses much like the game itself.
This is not your average roguelike and it made me pump 90 hours in it (before getting the actual ending) easily without feeling repetitive since there's multiple builds to pursue, multiple weapons and a cool take on upping the difficulty for higher rewards later in the game.

This game goes beyond being a really good roguelike and is just a really good game in general, if you're on the fence definitely try it and actually... just try it regardless.

A spin on what we got to know as "action roguelike" and a really good one at that. While this game is still in Early acces and missing some content throughout (more levels, bosses, items/guns) what we have at the moment is a really good framework and already enough content to have easily entertained me for 20 hours. I don't think I have seen all items/guns yet and I'll be happy to start up the game again after a new content release.

The game builds on top of gamedesign established in games like Bindings of Isaac, Enter the Gungeon and Nuclear Throne. It takes most of the things that worked in those games, streamlined it even more and added enough things to keep it fresh. Fighting the boss (or multiples) a cross the map in stages is one of those novelties and is well executed. The artstyle and animations are really good and there's clearly a lot of love poured into the sounddesign.

In comparison with other action roguelikes it's a bit in the middle difficulty-wise, there's good vertical progression (with more in the future probably) and there's the ability to loop or just flatout select a harder difficulty.

Overall an already very good game and promising to be one the better ones representing the genre.

Top down rogue-like shooter... We already have tonnes of these wandering about... HOWEVER, this is a very good one. A interesting setting, nice artwork, smooth controls and unforgiving but not unfair gameplay. It has bullet-hell gameplay, unlockable characters, unlimited playability and some sweet character- and gun-design.
It's less heavy in the upgrades/abilities department like you would come to expect after games like TBOI, however with mutations you get with each level-up and characters that really play different from eachother you don't miss it. Also don't expect having the game get easier because you unlocked stuff... the game will only become easier if you become better and learn about the different characters, enemies, guns and mutations. Oh and a really nice soundtrack!

Choose your own adventure rogue-lite with a feeling of exploring and adventuring like they did in the 80-90s cartoons. Select a crew composed of three characters of which one will be the captain and therefor recieve a unique ability depending on the character. Theres 4 types of characters to choose from all with different strengths, attacks, abilities and all that jazz. The overworld features shops, research and upgradeable entourage for you to aid you own your adventures where you will find treasures, charm locals, research stuff and kill the baddies.
The combat is turn based on a hexgrid, featuring a rock-paper-scissor style type of damage you can do. There's enough content to keep you busy and the combat, art and setting is a fresh new setting for us gamers to enjoy.

I remember being sad and angry with the choices Relic made when playing the beta of this game while still being very much a fanboy of the original. Bought the game after it matured a bit and saw it for what it really was. An, allthough not exactly the same, experince akin to the original COH. An RTS with focus on smaller engagements and zero to none focus on basebuilding. Good grahpics, physics and a steep but very satisfying learning curve.
Good game for just wanting to build giant tanks and artillery and utterly destroy the enemy in a compstomp or to really get your tactical/strategic itch scratched in very tense and stressfull 1 on 1 matches in automatch.
Downside of the game is the multiple DLC. The new factions offer more than enough of new contact, however each faction has extra commanders as well which in theory you can get by playing the game for free... this will take some luck and a lot of time. If you want to play a specific commander, be prepared to spend some extra cash or invest a lot of time.

It took some time, but this has become a game not onyl worthy of the name "company of heroes" but has also added on to that legacy.

Immersive story, good tactical combat, nice strategical elements and choices have (dire) consequences and it looks good while providing all this. One of the most fun I had with turn based combat in games.

Roguelike/lite / choose your own space adventure. Nicely designed game about your own selected crew in your own selected spaceship of which you can unlock more by progressing in the game and acchieving certain feats. The choose-your-own-adventure part of the game is nicely done, visit different nodes in space which may or may not give you loot, a challenge or progress the story a bit depending on your crew/ship/previous choices. The combat is real time with a turnbased feel to it due to the timing/cooldowns of the abilities. Beating the game for the first time might take some time, but just once you figured it all out you get a run in which you get absolutely slaughtered from the get go.
The devs even released a free DLV adding a whole new race and some other mechanics to the mix.

In conclusion: for the subgenre of games it's in, it's one of the best.

No 360 no-scopes, No crosshairs, no hitmarkers, no kill/death messages on the top right of your screen and no surviving a bullet to the face.

A modern-age realist FPS, with good graphics, sound- and weapondesign and a near perfect damage model. Little different than the mod it started out as (for those who remember that) but a solid game. Especially awesome with a team that really works together.

Third person (and first if you want to) medieval warfare simulator. It's a third person hack and slash with a incredible metagame around it with consisting of getting followers, turning them into worthy fighters to amass an army and eventually even take castles with it. You can get your own villages, castles and cities. Make allies and enemies, marry yourself into a powerful family and become king... or you know you can loot and pillage everything aorund you till the other families join forces to kill your forces.
The combat is not too complicated, but there's enough mechanics going on to make it interesting and the combat on horse is awesome.
It takes a little bit getting used to it, but you can sink in quite a few hours building your kingdom or pillaging the ♥♥♥♥ out of poor villages and merchants.
