Game performance is unacceptably bad. Even on high-end machines, you won't be able to achieve smooth gameplay.

Developers state that they were targeting for 30fps and that for a city builder game, you don't need more. But we are not in 2012. And it is NOT up to developers to dictate to us what game performance we should want. People are spending a HUGE amount of money on high-end PCs to get 60fps++ in whatever game. Not to mention that 90% of gamers with mid-range machines expect more than 20fps.

There is nothing in this game that justifies such requirements. Graphics are beyond bad. Detalisation is poor, lighting is poor, lots of shadow glitches. And that aliasing even on max settings... For God's sake, at least add DLSS/DLAA.

DO NOT expect significant improvements. Moreover, it will get worse with each next DLC, as it did with the original Cities: Skylines.

Ну...откровенно говоря, оптимизация всегда была слабой стороной игры. Тем более вторая часть. Чем больше город - тем меньше фпс)

Freakonomicon, that is not correct, your assumption is not applicable to basically any other game on the market.

No, my point is that people are buying overprized hardware just because it has high numbers and then complain that their performance is worse than before. Most people just don't understand the state of hardware. Newer, more expensive hardware doesn't get noticeably "faster" anymore, because it physically can't. It's just becoming "better" at very specific things. Developers don't "optimize" software less than they did 10 years ago, it's just that nowadays the players can't buy hardware overpowered enough that new games just "work" without the devs using live user feedback to fix issues. That has always been a thing since we had live updates. It's just the logical conclusion of a trend caused by the users, not the developers..
The game runs with the same and even better framerate on my 2070 than it does on the 4090 and I suspect that it’s because of cooling or a lack thereof. The 3080 had the same issue. They overheated because they pulled much more power than they were rated for.

Yes, you are totally right that people who spent a few grands on their PC would expect corresponding graphics and performance.

And yes, there are settings that allow to get acceptable framerate, no argue with that. You can drop resolution, disable volumetric of whatever, disable some shadows, lighting etc. But with them graphics looks worse than in the first game. Not just worse, but overall disgusting. And even then there still will be some stutters. That doesn't make any sense.

State of this game is unacceptable.

"They act like everybody has 4090's" funnily it's mainly people who own 4090s that complain the most. Almost as if paying more than 700€ for a graphics card for games is a waste of money. I get >50 fps with minor stutters on my 5 year old 2070, so what's your point here?

I have a somewhat smooth gameplay on a 1060 with 3gb of vram.

If people can't figure this out with their high-end PC, they should buy a PS5 and stop wasting money.

Performance do need fixes, but the game is running fine. And will get better.

Yea no one’s asking for 120fps or anything. If cyberpunk level graphics can perform smoothly by now I don’t see why the flat textureless textures and potato graphics of CS2 is choking up GPUs. It’s also embarrassing to release a game in 2023 without frame generation technology. The game is acting as though it’s got the newer ray reconstruction enabled or something 😂

the number of apologists defending the 30 fps target is simply embarrassing. The bar for modern day games is so damn low it’s buried.

Most of these companies don't respect the time or money investment of their playerbase at all. They act like everybody has 4090's, and even if you have one of those, most of these newer games run like sh*t on it when they come out. Most of these studios ought to be embarrassed for putting out the kind of unoptimized garbage they've been releasing this year. That of course would assume they have some sense of shame to begin with, which they do not.

It's wildly disingenuous to posit that your target audience should be happy with 30fps. That's not true of any segment of the audience on PC.
