Only played through the tutorial boss. Still kicked my ass harder than any modern "story-driven" game has done.
Upvoting this because, while it's *just* a boss rush game, it does quite a few things well:

Atmosphere
Minimal yet compelling narration (which seems to bear quite a lot of symbolism)
Badass music
Boss fights that reward reflexes and understanding of gameplay mechanics, with many phases that go from melee combat to bullet hell.

Bought it at 6-7 euros, recommended as ♥♥♥♥ at that price range.

It's really sad that, while the game is fun to play, the lack of restrictions that motivated people to be more careful in their next approach in order to win is a turn off. I hate when developers trivialize concepts of difficulty as "abstract", "masochistic" or downright idiotic, which is the case with Broforce.

Me and my friend completed this game in roughly 2.5 hours and the A.I. was nonexistent or bad, let alone the fact that my buddy could break bosses in half (thanks glitched A.I.). Every "level" is basically 1-2 minutes long or less if you know where's the sprint button.

I guess it's fun if you're in "random exploshiuns XD" but this gets old real fast. And no, this game isn't hard and no, throwing a half-thought ironman challenge in a game that's completely lacking of sophisticated balance from a pure game design perspective doesn't make your game "hardcore".

Game has no cloud saves but sure let's give them a rewind button because kids nowadays can't deal with the results of their misplays lasting for more than 1 second.

Generic "robots saving the world from alien invasion", with predictable and tropey elements.
Play the game on ultra easy to enjoy the story. And once again a big thanks to the developer
for adding the "skip gameplay" button. We need more developers innovating with such features. He's really 2 steps in front of the competition.

If you're not new to Falcom games, this is the game that merges Trails of Cold Steel's generic+tropey+cliche yet good and fun story with Ys fast-paced action RPG combat.

If you're mew to Falcom games, they're a company whose niche is making mostly action jrpg's with predictable yet fun stories. And the games that are turn-based have such a huge emphasis in fleshing out their worlds that the only other comparison I can make is Witcher.

If you played the Vita version, prepare to be salty as this is the definite version of the game, and it brings:

1) Stable 60 FPS and higher resolution
2) New side stories (basically dungeons with a little plot to flesh out the character relationships)
3) After Story: A new chapter that takes place after the main story.
4) New playable characters at certain parts of the game.
5) Expanded friend pages
6) Battle changes - combat has been made a lot more difficult than the Vita version, like the addition of new EX Skills
7) New difficulty options - Calamity, higher than Nightmare, possibly rivaling Inferno mode from Ys games. Infinity mode is also an option for NG+ and can be paired with the existing difficulty settings. Wanna do Calamity + Infinity? :D
8) Kou can now decorate his room and this triggers more options.

Story-wise this is a tongue-in-cheek parody of Trails. Combat-wise this is in par with Ys VIII (which isn't out yet on Steam).

Alright, real talk:

PC requirements:
i5 quad core 3330
GTX 660 2GB VRAM
8 GB DDR3
Windows 10 64-bit

Game runs in solid 60 fps 95% of the time, but dips lower than 15-20 fps whenever there's a smoke effect (something that according to my Google searches is also an issue with CS:GO and World of Warcraft low/mid rigs. For a PC that's above the minimum requirements I shouldn't have to lower my resolution to anything less than 1080 to enjoy non-stuttering gameplay 100% of the time.

Graphics wise the game doesn't look that it should be demanding. Tales of Berseria looks way better, its story is miles better and its characters are more fleshed out and memorable by any character in this game. And yet I get solid 60 fps in that game in spite of being a newer game. Tri-Ace dropped the optimization ball.

Combat is fun but I don't care about the plot or the characters so I'll probably finish it some day. There are too many issues with it. I'd rather play Trails of Cold Steel and Tales of Berseria. Hell, I'd rather play Tales of Zestiria than this. To give you a hint: There is no "run" button. Actually, there is but you have to tap it rythmically every 2 seconds if you want to run (because holding it down would make the game easy or something?). And given that the areas are HUGE this was pretty much the intentional design.

I seriously hope the Star Ocean reboot that's in the rumors/talks is true. There's so much potential in the premise that gets wasted in the execution.

Better fighting game than Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
