Early Access Review
Amazing game, literally any in game physical form is possible, and best of all you don't have to sit down to play it as intended. Get to be online all day, while still standing up and pacing around, and remaining socially connected very very nice, btw if you lyke Vrchat as much as me I recommend high battery life batteries and comfort headset two of the batteries, and if you have quest 2 get a magnifier lense it will improve graphics on a budget imo.

TF2 if you ask me, is hands down the greatest F2P game of all time.

Upsides: For people into that whole hardcore/competitive thing, there are servers for that, though I don't pay a whole lot of attention to that. And for everyone else including myself, there's a bunch of other servers out there. There's 9 different classes. And all sorts of interesting things you can do with them.

TF2 classes are minigames in themselves, engie is like minecraft, playing spy is like a stealth game.

You can be a scout, the fastest class with a gun to run even faster at the cost of a slightly smaller clip size, or you can use a gun with more mid to long range power. You can be an engineer who can use a mini sentry to gain a more efficient faster deploying sentry, as well as additional hit points that thing btw is this amazing cyborg hand thing called the Gun-Slinger.

Counter-intuitive as it may sound, you can use a bow and arrow as a sniper thich I find very hard to aim, but if you can somehow do that consistently, you can do ridiculous damage with it. You have to charge at a certain rate, avoid missing and hopefully hit the head. I'm so bad at using it I usually have to pair it with an SMG to finish off after a bodyshot and I STILL do badly with it. Still a lot of people like that playstyle.

You can also use a steak sandvich as the slowest highest health class, to gain mobility and mini crits at the cost of taking more damage, and being melee only for the duration. You can combine this with steel fists to counteract the extra damage taken, and this can REALLY take people for surprise.

As a spy you can use a watch to stay invisible literally forever, well unless the match ends with your side losing anyways, but it drains faster based on movement limiting mobility. There's another watch to survive nearly anything, make impersonations AKA disguises more convincing, and fake your own death but it also makes you less stealthy in general.

As a Demoman there's three different shields you can choose from replacing the stickybomb launcher. Each gives you a charge ability that makes you much better at melee, traveling fast, and even escaping. One has the strongest defensive stats, one does the most charge damage, and one allows more turning and recharges faster, at the cost of the charge being cancelled if you get hit during it. Also the community is much much much better than the community in a lot of other games, especially a lot of other FPS games, especially since there's so many servers to choose from.

You can even choose as some classes, between weapons better at single target or better at area effect damage. There's so many potential playstyles I couldn't do the justice of describing them all here.

Also, even though it's an FPS, there's more to it than just raw aiming skills. It can be predictive aiming skills versus hit scan aiming skills then other factors, like sentry placement, stickybomb usage, medic gameplay, doing backstabs, the TIMING of an ability as opposed to the aiming of an ability such as airblast, can all be areas of skill, players who don't have the best hit scan type aim can invest in

Also people call it "Hat Fortress 2", but don't let that fool you, there's more cosmetics than hats- even though hats to look the most distinct, consisting of a cyborg arm for the heavy, cosmetic pants for the engineer, non-combat "pets" that get credit for your kills... And a lot of the real interesting cosmetics are halloween related. Including but not limited to, dragon pyro, and werewolf demoman, xenomorph scout, pyro with this brain thing, and lots of zombies and stuff. There's also things like... This hat of a very tiny engineer sitting inside a chair "driving" the larger engineer around like a robot.

Then on top of that you can get strange weapons, that record your kills and level up to new levels. And you can rename them, and give them your own descriptions. Rather you want to name them something badass or more humorous, or that makes other people scratch their heads in bafflement is up to you. The game is also very comedy oriented in general, as opposed to... Some more super serious FPS games out there. I can like super serious stuff, but I tend to like the communities of a more comedy oriented environment, I guess cause it's more pleasant being around people who don't take things too seriously.

TF2 pubs, are one of the greatest things in existence if you ask me. Then there's multiple game modes, capture the flag, king of the hill, and push the bomb to this one place thing. And there's many many maps, including player made custom maps. I'm not quite sure how this works, but it adds amazing replay value. Apparently it costs money, though you can make your own maps from what I know.

There's so much about TF2, I don't think in any word I could describe it's greatness here. Oh yes and I forgot to mention, compared to a lot of games, it's very easy on the computer, and you don't need a super elite computer to run it.

Downsides: In a few ways there isn't nearly as much character customization as there is in Planetside 2, unlike Planetside 2 you can't choose your characters gender or skin color, though that's because the game revolves so much around premade characters, rather than characters you make yourself. But that's the case in a LOT of games like 80-95% of all games- especially games that aren't MMORPGs, so I'm not gonna be very critical of that. It would be extremely unfair to single out TF2 over that. Yes it's unfortunate, however for the love of all that's good and holy please don't single out TF2 for that though, when almost every video game is like that, or has LESS character customization available.

As for random crits, I actually do like random crits. Although, random crit rockets, because of being spammable, requiring less timing, requiring less aim, being AOE, and having such long reach, are significantly more powerful than all other random crits are. Seeing as how every classes random crits are very powerful, it doesn't bother me very much though.

Sometimes teams can be very imbalanced, also in Comp play/competitive play, lots of subclasses/alternative loadouts, becomes less viable or non-viable, which is just ONE of the reasons why, I'm someone who only likes pub play. This might also be subjective but, the axtinguisher nerf, though a lot of people seem to agree with me there.

Another possible downside: You can't always use Halloween cosmetics. :( Which saddens me but whatever fairly mild, and I guess adds significance to Halloween maps. Some people won't mind this, though another thing is, sometimes you'll have to be on an opposing team of one of your friends, and have some individuals on your own team you won't like (Hint those people likely to be boastful winners/sore losers/filled with insults/etc)

Regardless it's a pretty mild problem and definitely doesn't ruin the game, certainly better than everything being a premade match. Again I don't like premade group matchups cause it makes so many loadouts less powerful or bordering useless.

Conclusion: Yes TF2 is definitely worth it, and yes I would highly recommend it. It's miraculous that such a game is free, it's not even pay to win at all, it's easy on the computer, and the system requirements aren't very high, very low system requirements for an extremely good game. If you ask me it's hands down the best free to play game that ever existed, and will hold that title for a very very long time.

With the vast amount of subclasses in TF2, you can probably find something you're consistently decent at doing, and find particularly entertaining, and it's that thing, I'd recommend getting strange weapons/name tags/cosmetics/etc/ for. Note that, you won't be able to trade, and I think can't get lucky hat drops until you pay at least a little bit of money on the TF2 store, though it is relatively cheap. And you can always change classes on the fly.

Well it is free, so yes I do recommend it. Anyways here's all the good with the bad.

The good: Alright so the good it's free, and you can do so many things in it. Game mechanics wise, it's almost like a futuristic, pure player versus player version of Grand Theft Auto, and there's THREE factions fighting instead of two, and the factions are much deeper than the whole admittedly shallow Red Team vs Blue Team thing. Don't get me wrong, lots of great games use the Red Team vs Blue Team thing, including one of my favorites of all time, but I like how Planetside 2's factions go way deeper.

And yes, that's just as good as it sounds.

Since the amount of player is so huge, and there's things like repairing/healing/offering ammo reviving, even some lock on weapons, players of all skill levels can contribute. If your aiming or dodging skills are slightly below average, you can partially compensate for this by going light assault or infiltrator, and take enemies down by surprise... I feel like my aiming/dodging skills are at least a little subpar, and I like being able to use strategetic ambushes to compensate for that, and yes, it works.

When I play Planetside 2, I tend to main in either SMG infiltrator, semi-auto scout rifle infiltrator, and then sometimes albeit less often, a light assault, medic, magrider gunner, or magrider driver, depending on the circumstances. Sometimes a Max unit, but to be honest I personally get quickly bored of playing as a Max often times, in spite of all this talk of them being gamebreaking.

Infiltrator gameplay can be a nice, playstyle, in spite of all the stereotypes of the "Rambo-Wannabe-Infiltrator", you can just leave motion detectors near where your faction is mostly taking cover in, and then go off, and focus more on battling the enemy yourself, or taking advantage of the enemies distractions. Sometimes wraith flash infiltrator with the right weapons can be quite fun as well.

Or though I hardly ever play it, there's the option of Heavy Assault for direct combat, or engineer for vehicles/repairs/ammo support, or COMBAT medic who has the most versatile weapon in the game. There's also four different continents you can go to.

The bad: It requires a very good computer, and consumes a huge amount of resources, and it can be difficult, or impossible for some to get a consistently decent FPS. The factions mechanics, even their looks to some degree, could use some more diversity.

I think Vanu players should be able to purchase cosmetics that would either replace bodyparts with cyborg parts, or visibly turn them into genetic mutants... I mean, well they ARE supposed to be the transhumanist faction! Likewise, I think TR players should have the options of wearing cosmetic armor belts, and cosmetic guns built around their character, since they are all about using so many bullets. Lastly, NC should have the cosmetic option for lets just say "Mining fashion", as they do use repurposed mining gear as armor.

I think it would be a small but significant faction difference immersion booster, if the TR had a high tech judges gavel melee weapon, the NC had a very high tech mining pick weapon, and the VS had a laser claw melee weapon. I doubt these will ever be added but I think they'd be great add-ons.

Also too much about the VS seems to be... Being in between the TR, and NC, as in, firing faster than one faction, slower than the other, and hitting hard than one faction but not as hard as the other faction... And not having their own defining trait. Also the flash handles very badly, and driving up hills in it can if you ask me, be much more harder than it should've been. Updates, and new features being implimented can take an extremely long time as well. Key examples being the stalker cloak, that fast burst jetpack for the light assault.

Also the infiltrator was supposed to be given a recon drone but that whole idea seems to have been cancelled or something.

Some other downsides, that you may consider subjective... Well downsides to me anyways are the following. Now, I know Planetside was BUILT around friendly fire, so removing it would destroy it's balance, so I realize SOE shouldn't remove it for that reason... Although personally, friendly fire is something I dislike, but that's just me, and it's something I can cope with in Planetside.

Often times when you're going around capping bases, you're either getting steamrolled so hard, your platoon leader asks you to redeploy a minute in advance, or you're steamrolling so hard the enemy platoons just stay inside of their spawn or re-deploy and you can be sitting around for minutes waiting to cap multiple bases in a row with almost no fighting going on, and not even needing to watch your back very much... To me this can get quite boring, and is an unfortunate consequence of the games mechanics.

Also glowing landmines are a bit silly... Though to be fair, they did often fall through the ground a lot in the past making them a bit hard to see. Another big one, like a lot of players, I feel like the way a lot of bases were designed made vehicle players not able to contribute as much to their faction, and that's something I didn't like.

Here's the biggest downside of them all if you ask me: One world or two words combined... Redeployside. Earlier in the game it wasn't as much this way from what I could tell. But due to certain changes, a lot of platoons are redeploying every few minutes, okay maybe an exagguration but not far from that.

Some people like this or don't mind it, on the other hand it actually bothers me, and some other people a lot. Because we feel like it makes vehicles less important. There's fewer vehicle convoys than there used to be from what I can tell, and modern Planetside 2 platoons are much more heavily redeploy-a-holic-infantry oriented, than the platoons of the days before that became so prevalent.

To me it takes away the immersion, and is unfair to vehicle oriented players as well. Keep in mind you're talking about someone who generally heavily dislikes Click-This-Map-To-Travel mechanics. In some ways I'm very much an immersion player, and I dislike map-click-travel systems for that reason.

Conclusion: yes if you ask me, Planetside 2 is a good game... Especially for one that is free to play. Although sometimes, when I don't have much time to play, or I'm seeing almost no combat for a really long time (often times due to platoons redeploying so much, I end up playing TF2 instead). Yes I recommend this game... Hopefully your computer can run it okay.

Say what you will about it's graphics, or about the game being quite imbalanced compared to a lot of games... The artistic style, character customization, in game factions, the world design, and especially the storyline are all of once in a lifetime type of quality. I won't spoil the storyline just say it's... Amazing, say what you will about lots of the NPCs in it seeming boring or whatever, the faction/main quest specific characters are fascinating, and to me, that's what matters more.

My favorite fictional universe of all time, the TES universe... And the best storyline I've seen anywhere, the playable races are a lot more diverse, and interesting than the typical human/orc/dwarf/elf thing, and other than World Of Warcraft is one of the few in-game universes that avoids the if you ask me, overused common tendency of using orcs as the villains. You can be nearly anything in this game, and to me the way Morrowind was done, was the perfect mixture of fantastical fantasy with gritty realism.

Some people oooo and ahh over raw graphical power, and though I somewhat care about graphics, artistic value is much much more important to me. Imagine you can play one game with okay graphics but an epic mind blowing art style, or a game with super realistic graphics, but it's heavily based off of uninteresting bland things in real life or something, I'd choose the first any day of any week.

In spite of the graphics being quite outdated, the art style also has this... Type of grim and serious quality to it- in spite of it deviating very far from reality, which I also like.

Things a lot of people dislike about Morrowind: It's not a very player skill oriented game, combined with the fact it's primarily first person/though you can use third person to marvel at your characters epicness. A lot of players have a heavy disdain for primarily first person games, that prioritize character skill aboce player skill, personally I like it though. Without spoiling anything I can tell you, out of all TES games, Morrowind is more like a fantasy game with some mild science fiction elements, and that's also a huge part of the reason I like it so much.

Yes, a game that, in a lot of ways resembles medieval times, but has some sci-fi elements thrown in there, and it does it very VERY VERY well, even if that may sound strange to you.

Yes features in Daggerfall were removed in Morrowind, though I feel like it's the perfect balance, between Daggerfall, and games after Morrowind, because Daggerfall has extremely outdated game mechanics... And yes, the graphics of Daggerfall shallow as it may sound, did turn me off. Unlike Daggerfall Morrowinds graphics in spite of being quite old fashioned now, are good enough that I'll always be content with what it has to offer... And the art style which I keep going on and on about is amazing.

Other than Daggerfall, it's also the only TES game with multiple vampire bloodlines you can choose from, for some people this wasn't a big deal, for me it was a HUGE DEAL. Another nice thing about Morrowind, is it's less about platform jumping skills, or twitch action skills or aiming skills, and more about conversing your resources properly to succeed and survive... The AI of the guards however... Is very bad, and easy to take advantage of... And while I admit this is a glaringly huge problem, there's so much good about Morrowind I can easily overlook that.

There's a chance we will disagree, some people like their heavily fantasy games to be more based on real world stuff, or don't care for the mild hunts of sci-fi Morrowind has in it, and I've even chanced across a few people, who haven't been captivated by Morrowinds factions or storyline like I have, though if you ask me, it has the greatest storyline I've ever heard of, even compared to movies and stuff.

Some people won't like the fact that you will start out very weak, and have to repetively train your character, and use some cunning to get out of that situation, then you eventually become so powerful you as a player don't need a whole lot of twitch action skill to succeed, although this is something I actually like, and don't mind. There's also a huge amount of mods for the game, so you can have nearly anything you want in the game, I'm not gonna lie and say literally everything, but probably almost anything you could think of.

I think it'd be fair to say, Morrowind is less skill based and more strategy based, then the TES games that came after it. Morrowind isn't for everybody, and I'm telling you of the most common complains about it so you know beforehand. That all said I give Morrowind a 10/10 or 11/10 or something like that, one of the greatest games of all time, and if you ask me, hands down the best single player game there is.
