It's an incredible game, but you're better off with fixed GOG version.

GOG version comes pre-patched for resolutions and without CD launcher. Also bonuses, yes. It's just a bit annoying that they released almost the exact copy of CD version here, except that updated with an official patch (just like GOG).
After playing for a time - I would say both versions are flawed, but you do have to tinker less with the GOG one.
