From the creative minds of Fromsoft, comes a souls-like game that won GOTY and is rated as my number 1 game of all time. So believe me when I say, that this game is simply....a masterpiece...Beginning all the way to end, Sekiro is crafted perfectly, as it never loses that quality of gameplay that you are looking for....and has beautiful and smooth combat to challenging legendary bosses. All of which that will push you at the brink of your limits, and yet at the sametime...allows you to enjoy the game. Of course, just like every other game at first. You might suck. Like really bad; your not learning how to fight, you are too under-leveled, a boss is too hard, and/or you don't know the mechanics of Sekiro. However....the beauty and magic of this game is not just the fact that its hard....its that the more you try and learn from each death, the more you progress and the more satisfaction and enjoyment you get out of it.... simply because of how much you have learned and how far you have gotten along the way. Which to that I say, Sekiro has a progression that is unmatched and a one-time experience. No other game that I have played has ever made me proud of how far I have gotten. Because...I PERSISTED. and just as long as you PERSIST through the pits of Ashina, the more you will enjoy the rush, the thrill of battle and as long as you take the given opportunities to EXPLORE in this game. So as someone who understands the ways of the blade and loves to jump into the clashing art of sword combat. I can say for certainty that as long as you try and push through that the more you will get from this game. Regardless, when it comes to previous souls games. Sekiro is much different from your average Souls-games, where dodging acts as your defense and builds are the very fundamental factor of your success. However in Sekiro deflecting/parrying is your defense, dodging most of the time only leads to your death and the only "build" here is your skill level. So while some can beat this game in less than a week, some might take a month of two or some might just quit the game entirely.

Now when it comes to the story narrative of this game, I must say this, if you haven't played any souls games, then one thing you must know is that there isn't a narrative story that is being driven by cut-scenes or fountains of dialogue. But just because a game doesn't have those things, it doesn't mean that the story is not gonna be good, because in cases like Sekiro a few words or images, are more than enough to paint a thousand words...With that being said, the game does a creative and well thought out job of telling a story in a unique way. through environmental story telling. Such as carefully placed items, background scenery, small and impactful cut scenes and more.

In the end, Sekiro is a must play. I will say this however...if this is your first Souls-Like game or even if it isn't. Sekiro WILL be hard. There will be times where you are frustrated, there will be times where you think the game cheats, there will be times where you are lost, and there will be times where you just quit.....But as long as you surpass the boundaries. and as long as you learn from each death. Your coldest friend. Then this game will be an unforgettable one-time experience and a masterpiece that will last forever. By the way, also know this, "Hesitation is defeat."
