I played this game for 53 hours ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Got all the achievements. I loved it. I watched the anime many years ago and forgot about it except for the split personality girl. Revisiting it back I thought I cant expect much from this VN but it was pleasantly nice and intriguing. It has ace attorney vibes, very engaging, amazing music and everything is perfect. There is also a ton of mini-games for you to explore so your money is in the right place with this one.

Story: Dark and Plot twisting
There are hordes of mysteries and tons of characters so you can expect a lot of routes, arcs and locations. Yes you are stranded in a rich school for a fight for your life but that is not all, it has interesting debates with a handful of minigames. The story has plenty of dialogue and it does continue up to 30-40 hours maximum. All students with you are the ultimate students which means they have supreme ultimate ability, the MC is the ultimate lucky bastard. So he ends up in this rich school, finds new friends, gets locked in for a deathgame and reveals the truth about a robotic bear who is conducting all this mess. Will you be able to get out of this death game? Or will you have babies while being stuck here? That's the question.

Characters: Plenty to kill
so many characters and so many arcs and so many presents to collect! Each character is unique and have their own past, trauma and likes. When you get close to them you reveal a lot about them. My favorite is the cute fem boi and the detective girl hands down. I also liked Celeste maybe a bit. All characters are very memorable in their own way and contributes to the story nicely. Plot development with them is superb and I enjoyed discovering and talking to them. You cannot max the relationships of all characters in one go but when you unlock the school mode you can easily get them, so just enjoy the game in the first play through. I am glad I did not have to play it again and again like some VN's.

Gameplay: Exaggerated mini-games
The gameplay has a lot, you have your own PDA where you can check a lot of things. There is a school store where you can get gifts through a slot machine. The HOG parts where you check for corners and get mono-coins is interesting, you can use them and get particular gifts to increase releationships with the characters. You can choose certain choices from dialogue and then there are the minigames in the class trials for each chapter. The minigames and the class trials.. well. It's half shooter, time limited, hangman, rhythm shooting ones with a lot of twists. The final bullet time battles can be very insane af and it took me a while to catch the mechanics for the achievements. The VN has an auto-button but you need to press Left CTRL to fast forward which hurts my thumb a bit. The only flaw is that an auto skip button. You can also manually walk the MC to classrooms and other places around the school which is a very neat feature. There is also a school mode when you finish the VN for the first time and it's a time management/scavenger mini game. This helps you get more coins and unlock each character ending. You can also replay each class trial without starting a new game which saves ton of time.

Art and Music
The art is amazing, well polished. The music is PERFECT it's everything! I enjoy it, i liked the class trial music it gets your blood pumping.

Achievements
Now I saw a lot of comments saying the achievements can be glitched. It was in the past but it was all fixed now! I got all of them and it was NOT an easy feat considering there are tons of character and endings to unlock. There is a probability game where you can get a new present by chance make sure you always use one coin per turn disregarding the repeat rate, you will always get a new present when you hit 10, 15, 20, you know the 5x5 number table. I personally dabbled around repeat rate to 30% and then tried this method, it's time consuming but it works. And for the school mode mini game it takes some grinding and patience, try crafting mothers warm milk and restoring chara HP in one go, helped a ton. For the coins crafting the sissy robot will give you 200 coins and replaying class trials will give you 100. There are a lot of guides and videos out there which will help you so don't loose hope!

Overall
A blood pumping plot twisting visual novel with a ton of characters and mini games to entertain you for few weeks. Danganronpa has many sequels which are worth checking out if you are a fan. This game is 100% worth the money.
