Nioh is without a doubt a great Souls-like in terms of the overall atmosphere and difficulty level, but it fails to deliver in other departments. The twist on the Edo period Japan is perfectly executed, combining both historical and fictional elements into a cohesive and enticing story that never fails to entertain me no matter how many times I replay it. I do understand; however, that the game is quite "grindy" and requires one to fully invest themselves into farming a specific enemy type for materials and/or gear drops. This is certainly one of the weaker aspects of the game alongside the garbage controls which were clearly ported to PC as an afterthought.

If you are willing to overlook some of the more obvious flaws the game has, I would definitely recommend giving it a whirl especially when it is on a large discount.

You can't import save files!

I've played it about half way through on Epic and i wanted to continue it on Steam for the achievements and all. Unfortunately the game won't allow you to play on any other save file, as it will recognize it as "save file of another player".

Nioh is an amazing game, but i'm not going to replay thorugh half of the game just to have it on steam :)
