A Perspective You Didn’t See Coming!?
Basic premise/Story

From developer studio, DICE, and directed by Bernd Diemer. Star Wars: Battlefront II is an action shooter. I only played the main campaign. So that’s what this review will consist of. I didn’t expect much from Star Wars: Battlefront II. However, I was left impressed as a whole due to a large amount of gameplay variety the game has. Sure it has some repeated gameplay sections of run and gun. But for this type of game, I think I could give it a pass due to the story, and seeing how Iden Versio evolves is a cool experience.

First, the engine is absolutely incredible. The engine is really smooth and I was quite shocked my old pc rig could run this game near flawlessly. I haven’t seen quite an optimized game like this since playing Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zero + Phantom Pain with the FOX engine. The environments were crisp and I didn’t experience any major slowdowns, lag, or bugs whatsoever. All of this culminated into a short, but enjoyable ride where I was in multiple different scenarios like stealth sections to avoid enemy soldiers. Only to switch to ground-based combat while holding off waves of enemies as I descended further into our main base. Then the game really shocked things up with spaceship combat and oh boy was that a real thrill ride to experience. Wasn’t even short either. I had to do ship missions and there were checkpoints involved. There was even a special ‘force’ section involved. I’ll leave you to think whether you could control either Jedi or Sith haha.

The main story took me about four hours to complete the main story and two hours to complete the resurrection DLC which continues after the main story was completed.

Overall, I had a blast with the short campaign. And combat continued to be a fresh experience since I could slot different abilities for each mission. I would’ve liked a longer main campaign and a much more varied gameplay formula. But I think for what it offers a decent serviceable amount for the amount you can play in the main campaign.
