The good:

Companions: The companions are really cool, their character arcs are interesting, tons of good banter.

Combat: Tons of builds with the equipment in the game. And equipment acquisition feels natural. The games introduction of heavy attacks to break armour and quick attacks for shield feels intuitive. The unique Bosses have specific attack patterns that you need to memorise in order to beat them.

Locations: The environments are gorgeous.

Transmog: self explanatory.

Character Creator: Is fkn amazing, (if you dont want a beard)

Plot: There's some pretty neat milestones with the later main missions but specifically with the companion missions that I really enjoyed and that expanded on the universe in a cool way.

The Bad:

Combos ( Primers and Detonators): You are class restricted to only bring along specific companions of one type of class, this feels like garbage and is borderline crippling until you reach later levels and gear and skill points can overpower combos.

Character Agency: Gone There's also no real way your character's origin or beliefs are respected outside of allowing you to mention them once to yourself and maybe a couple times sprinkled throughout.

Writing: Its all over the place, youll have really amazing lines in some places and then the game will treat you like a moron and spoonfeed you the most braindead of sentences in others. While the plot is really cool in the final act, the actual dialogue spoken in the final scene was a huge let down.

There is so much amazing lore in the game, but 90% of it is hidden in the codexs. There were virtually no meaningful sidequests and while all the unique villains in the game are amazing conceptually, they are not explored in any way shape or form outside of that initial concept.

Legacy: The game completely and utterly disregards any previous game decisions. Doesnt retcon any, but dont expect to see anyone return in a meaningful way.


Verdict:

Worth the play through, youll enjoy a lot but you will be gutted at the thought of what couldve been had they respected what Dragon Age games were when creating this. Almost every interview you watch they are telling you about how little time they had to put things into the game and it definitely feels that way.

Despite the server issues the game is rly fun right now, I like a ton of the changes they've made. I think it should be getting good reviews again soon. Plenty of quality in this expansion.

I played this game expecting the worst.
Whole first map when you start the game sucks, it's ugly, it's clunky, the map traversal is crap.
Then as you keep playing it gets better and better, cooler environments, more flowing combat. Cool voice overs and a unique world (world building is interesting, plot is surprisingly unpredictable)

Tutorial is literally 3 whole chapters tho, so just be prepared.
I'm really enjoying this game now. Playing with my friend now in Co Op feels good too. Ur just a clone of them though. A shame cause they introduced a really funny character at the start that would've been a sick full game companion. Oh well.

Worst first mission tho, almost made me want to return it.

5/10 for boring main protag, everyone else in the game is witty and unique. At least the main protag is well voice acted, but man he's such a cookie cutter meh dude.

If you liked Alan Wake, The Twilight Zone or Stephen King books, this is your jam. It's got some cute force unleashed telekensis, some really fun world building, and the way the game approaches slowly revealing the mystery is epic. I will warn you though, you will have to go back and forth between interfaces to check out all clues you pick up.

Games got fun gameplay, challenging difficulty ( that can be trivialised with cheats) and a good eerie feel to it. Main character is a bamf. Dialogue gave me some Senua:Hellblade vibes.

Do recommend, but you should def play this when you are ready to take in the full atmosphere ( at night or chill times) you gotta give it the patience it needs.

Also Ill always appreciate a movement system that just lets u climb things automatically.

Honestly, really solid MMO, quick dailies, quick leveling, good multiplayer, great aesthetic. The games open world has so many pieces to explore all intrinsic to making the strongest character possible, everything has value. Try it out if you have the time.

The open world traversal and parkour kinda really sucks a55, youd think everyone would've learnt how to make it as fun as possible by now after looking at games like Assassins Creed and Prototype but I guess not , but if you can ignore that for a second the actual story content, major battles, cutscenes and voice acting are super refreshing and I can't wait to see more from this developer.

Are you into post apocalyptic synth vibes? A mystery that needs to be slowly pieced together through world exploration? A Skill up system where by the end of the game ur a god of death? Are you a furry? Then this game is for you. It's super cute and deserves everyone's attention. Just be weary that a lot of the content is about finding secrets hidden in the map and learning enemy attack patterns.
